Patoo, Yep! I learned that Comcast is not the provider there. However, I have already set up an account with (can't remember name) and an appointment! :
-
mysunshine, Comcast is here but under xfinity so you should be able to transfer your service if you wish. There is also BrightHouse, CenturyLink and Direct TV.
-
It's started!
Not a large house but I'm excited!

Wonderful news, Patoo!!!
Spent the day in Seattle, but started out with a 5k run where I needed to dodge the black ice. Skiing tomorrow.
I have figured out the ultimate motivator to get the post holiday flab off. I am signing up for the Seattle Cupid Undie Run....6 days after V-day. I am also doing a V-day run with a much younger friend. Will be fun. She isn't up for the Undie Run this year. Something about not wanting to show off "too much of herself" in public.
The Undie Run will be a personal first for me. That is, daring to "bare most" in chilly temps, and then doing this after a trip through breast cancer treatment. But then, if Ms Candy Apples can do this with burlesque, so can I. Of course, "Seattle's Favorite Eye Candy" is much younger than I am.
Had a blast in Seattle today. Did the Art Museum with friends. Impressionist show was OK, but much better paintings at the Tate, for example. Not that everyone would know the difference, but I do.
I will report later if the La Perla silk bra headed my way lives up to its promise. Happy New Year. What are YOU doing to shake it up a bit? - Claire

Hoping to get a workout in today while I am cooking the turkey for dinner!
-
1/9- 40 minute work out on the machines last night for resistance training at the gym. Then a nice soak in the hot tub, aahh.......
-
Got my 15-20 minute work out on the Gazelle a short time ago. Resting for a bit before its off to laundry land!
-
woohoo patoo excited for u2!
Today's high will be 5 so exercise will be a ramble around the home improvement store.
-
Making hubby bring down his laundry while I rest post-excercise

Did a hard FIRM DVD Get Chisl'd. I don't know if it's I am committed or that I should be committed, because I am psycho about meeting my weekly exercise goals.
I just read in AARP magazine that a new study had added evidence to the importance of strength training to maintain a healthy brain. Women who exercised with weights twice a week for a year had fewer signs of brain damage (related to aging, but probably would apply to chemo brain too) than did the stretching group. The key may be the way blood is pumped to the brain in pulses during strength training. It adds that it can also have a huge impact on risk factors such as diabetes and high blood pressure. So, if you haven't already, add some light weights to your week girls!
-
Ruth, I've been inconsistent with weights so this past week I've been making myself do some light weights, planks and squats every time I watch TV.
Youtube has a lot of good yoga and other exercise videos. That's also how I do the salsa dancing. I go through the xbox to get youtube which then projects on the TV.
That's exciting Patoo. I love the idea of building a house and choosing what you want. I've always lived in someone else's design!
Claire I'd be wearing my hannah andersen long johns! They are undies! I'm interested to hear what you think of the LaPerla bra. I can't imagine its really worth the cost.
Scottie did I say good luck with your upper GI results. I hope its nothing serious, but mostly that you find the answer. I have to make myself do a little organizing each weekend too. So far I have conquered my makeup drawers, the refrigerator, and my sock and underwear drawers. There is oh so much more to do.
I walked 41 minutes in a beautiful, snowy cold 12 degrees. I took my camera with me so in a few minutes maybe I'll post some pictures - you know in case any of you Floridians/Californians/Texans are feeling hot.
-
From my walk today:
-
Swans. Not a great photo because they were so far away and I had to use telephoto.
-
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
TwoHobbies, they are beautiful scenes. I'd rather be here where it's only dipping down in the 50's at night but love to see the snow scenery. This is my first winter in the south so maybe in a few years I will yearn to go out and frolic in the snow but for now I'll keep threatening to go to the pool and frolic there!
After church went out on my bike but only did about 4.5 miles as my tires were flat (note to self, check tires before going out).
Night sculpted friends.

Jazzy. . .lol that should do the trick.
Two Hobbies. . .Lovely pixs but sooo cold. Brrr. I'm whining about dreary 30s in WetLanta.
Ruth. . .any really good beginning yoga videos. At MOs there is a Saturday class for onco patients but it's a distance for me. I can't find a local truly beginner class.
I've got Dh on a roll. Today we decluttered the master closet and our dressers. Five huge bags of clothes that we no longer wear to donate. When we finished, Dh admitted that it was sooo nice to actually see the clothes we use.
We are now at the gym and I'm feeding my FitbitHR. Looking forward to mid March when I get my preordered Fitbit Blaze.

Just saw our low tonight will be in the 30's!!! (well 39 but it's still below 40). May just have to turn on the heat.
-
Patoo, Yipes! That's cold! 60's here. Cold front coming through! Brrrrr
TwoHobbies, Your pictures are beautiful.
-
Got out and did about 10 miles on my skis today, and my glutes are letting me know this. Hardest was the ski back to the lodge on the downhill trails. One poor guy kept wiping out. I took it slow, and got there just fine. Was nippy in the wind, and glorious in the sunshine.
Love all the shades of blue that the snow takes on. - Claire
-
Scottie, go to Amazon and type in Yoga for Beginners DVDs. A number of them will come up. If you read the customer reviews, you will get a pretty good idea as to whether any given one would be a good fit for you.
-
Claire and TwoHobbies....gorgeous pictures!!
My fitbit battery died on me today so it looks like I only did 6500 or so steps...not sure exactly how much I walked, but I'm sure its twice that....
Its supposed to warm up into the 40's the early part of the week with sun, so hopefully some of the snow will melt in the neighborhood.
-
Claire-Wow! It looks beautiful! Skiing is so much fun!
Patoo- It must be exciting getting started on your place. 30s is so cold, which we're just above you in the 40s. It is very cold for us here.
Karen-It really is frustrating when you have gotten in those steps, but the battery is dead. I have forgotten it home, which does me no good.
Ruth-I am going to check out the videos you suggested. When it's cold I am not motivated to get out.
Today I went with my DH on a bike ride. Later I walked on the treadmill.
-
Congratulations on the start of the build Patoo. TH and Claire glorious photos, Claire students at one of the universities close by here does an undie run as they prepare for finals and everyone appears to have fun so I'm sure you'll have a great time representing for us. Jazzy I need to get into that diet program, my friend who is here from Australia is tiny but she eats like a trucker and we've been eating our way all around SoCal, all my FB statuses are 'eating' 'eating again'.
Yesterday did RPM and Body Pump, it is launch week so new releases then in the afternoon we went to Laguna Beach and walked (California Dreaming girls we also ate lunch at the place I took you to) no formal exercise today but we went to the gospel brunch at House of Blues at Downtown Disney so a very long walk from the car park then a walk around DD after lunch then long walk back to the car. -
Getting caught up here - Patoo, love the house plans - it looks perfect. Bet you're getting excited. Two - nice pix of the swans. Scottie - congrats on getting the MBR closets and dressers done - just how do we manage to accumulate all that unneeded stuff????? Claire - LOL on the undie run - hope the weather cooperates! Badger - congrats on the Packers. Bet every cheesehead in Wisconsin is going crazy right about now!
Finally un-Christmassed the cabin this weekend and house last evening. It's the first time since the cancer year that I felt like doing more that perfunctory decorating. It was lots of fun to have it up, but more work to take it down than I remembered.
-
Subbed, Zumba, Yoga. It is so miserably cold here that the biggest challenge is to just leave the house!
-
80 min Bone Builder class. Good workout using hand and ankle weights.
Night sculpted friends.

So it's been a weird week for me. Eight days ago, my grandma died. Four days ago, I joined the Mets Club. Two big suckers in my brain and one small one. Still treatable, don't appear to be that aggressive. Small favors. In my gut, I feel that they have been there from initial Dx. I'll have surgery next week. Ladies, scanxiety is real, so if you want to chalk up the rib pain to the heavier weights you started lifting or the shortness of breath to the extra mile you added to your run, I understand completely. In all actuality, it's probably just that. But if there's any part of your body to be vigilant about, it's your brain. Doubly so for those of us who are Her2 or TN. My symptoms were very mild. I almost fell through the cracks.
So I'm temporarily banned from driving, which is a good thing. I'll be getting around on two feet and two wheels so I'll be burning off that extra estrogen and glocuse in my body. Got in a 1 mile walk with husband today. He had to stop and cry every few minutes. He's taking this much harder than I am. It breaks my heart. :
-
BTW, my main symptom was eight weeks of simple partial seizures, which took me six weeks to identify as such because, although I knew seizures were a sign of brain mets, no one had ever told me that they manifested in many different ways and could be very mild. I thought I had nerve damage because it was in my surgery arm. Here is a good webpage that explains the different types of seizures.
-
Bad at....I'm so sorry about your grandmother and to hear that you are dealing with mets....that just plain old s****!!! sending you hugs from Denver. Karen
-
(((Bad at Usernames))) I am so sorry this has happened. Please know that I am here for you - we all are here for you. Keeping you in my prayers and praying that your surgery goes well next week. The information on the webpage is excellent.
