I had my first appointment with my surgeon at a comprehensive breast center today after I found a mass in my right breast on the 8th of December. I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on 12/14 which showed an irregular solid mass measuring approx 2x3x2 cm. Today they ended up wanting additional views of my left breast. I had 4 regular views, then a 3d mammogram as well. I then had an ultrasound of both breasts and an MRI with contrast. I finally had a core needle biopsy at about 4 pm. We ended up not leaving until almost 5pm. I am supposed to get biopsy results by Friday and find out about the MRI results to see if the two suspicious areas on the left need biopsied (one is an area ofcalcifications and the other a a possible small mass). The surgeon already said the right mass would not be removed via lumpectomy due to its location. I also met with genetic counseling. Still hoping for benign results! I am exhausted!
