I didn't know (or didn't remember) that we had 4 presidents that were assassinated. (Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and JFK).

This is what the web says:
Two presidents were injured in attempted assassinations: Theodore Roosevelt (the 26th President) and Ronald Reagan (the 40th President). With the exception of Lyndon Johnson, every president's life since John F. Kennedy has been threatened with assassination.

(Wonder what they mean by threatened? Do they mean that the FBI, CIA etc consider there to be a danger? Or that real threats have been issued by terrorist groups? Or do they simply mean that every year huge numbers of nutters will send death threats to any major figure?)
I am reading a great book about Lincoln (slowly) at the moment so I was going to go for him!

FF, I had same thoughts as you on that quote that I copied...I think if there were actual attempts like Reagan's they would be on the news, correct? So probably threats that come in various forms.
