Hello everybody.

I am from Serbia, Europe and here is tought to find about general staging of breast cancer.

My sister is 33 yrs old. She has 2 tumors and left breast. Both of them were very small 4mm and 5mm but unfortunately one of them are spread to lymph nodes. She had surgery and mastectomy and removed 11 lymph nodes ( 3 were positiv). She is now going thru chemoteraphy and we are hope and pray for the best.

So my question is what is the stage of her cancer?

Thanks in advance

I think the doctors need to stage her, there are many factors that are involved. You can review stage information on the informational part of this website and you will see how confusing it can be. I just checked and she could still be considered a stage I, I think. Best wishes to your sister, tell her to kick cancer's butt.

Staging is done by looking at three factors--tumor size, how many lymph nodes are involved, and if there is presence of cancer other places in the body.

I would agree that you can get more info about staging here on this website. But your sister will definitely need to get the definitive staging from her oncologist.
