I'm stage 1, had bilateral BC, and have taken Anastrozole for 2 years. Haven't had any problems except drier eyes and arthritis of the Rt thumb. I can deal with both to give myself the best chance to avoid a re-currance. Oncologist says it will work better for me than Tamoxifen.

I have been taking anastrazole for almost 1 year (since October 2014). I had to be medically induced into menopause in order to take the AI's. That is why I had the oophorectomy, although I did start with the zoladex. I am tolerating the anastrazole well. Hopefully, you will too. Many people do not have side effects with anastrazole. I have aches and pains at times, but it is not bad at all, and I certainly have nothing to complain about with the anastrazole.
Good luck.

I just started taking this drug three days ago. Not sleeping and constipation. Hopefully this will pass in time. I will undergo radiation in a week, my choice. My onco test is not back yet. Hopefully, it will be no more than intermediate. I will not do chemo. Good luck to you and keep me poste

Hi, I have been taking anastrozole since July 25th, I have dry eyes, and I'm getting what feels like arthritis in my fingers. Other than that I am tolerating it fine.

diagnosed sept 2012 , taking anastrozole since May 2013 and have arthritis in ankles and knees. It is debilitating but there is no choice. Tumor was 1cm, grade 3 , her-, estrogen +, oncodx was a nasty 33, so I had nine chemos , a lumpectomy and radiation .

I was diagnosed five years ago discharged two days ago was on arimidex at first but only took it eighteen months as the arthralgia was unbearable then I was out on exemerstane which was slightly better but still couldn't walk far.after a year on those I went onto letrozole which was better but still in pain when I was discharged monday my oncologist changed me to tamoxifen as apparently now they say we should be in them for ten years instead of five she says the pain should subside now i really hope so as I haven't lived for five years as couldn't walk farther than 100 yards I can say that day two on tamoxifen I feel slightly better not as painful so fingers xd it will get better my advice is to listen to your body and tell your oncologist exactly what your side effects are. Regards sandylo
