I am not a villan nor an adversary

Hi having been on the boards on and off for about 6 years and unfortunately still dealing with issues dealing with scar tissue after mast I have stayed with one PS who has worked with me the entire way. Unfortunately he recommends I take out the implant to give myself a rest and relief, not sure of what will happen. To make a long story short, I called another more current microsurgical skilled dr. who shares space, not a partner with him. I had a tentative appt. First, his office calls and reschedules. I did not like the way the staff person spoke to me. I worked for attys most of my life and my skill and dodging calls and excuses are par. Anyway, my appointment for this dr. was reset for Jan. 6. A few days ago at 6:20 in the evening my cell phone rang and me completely unprepared and unrelaxed answered to a maniac on the other end are you so and so who called me a few years ago. I said no. Well, I spoke to your dr. and I understand you are end of the road with your situation, and you are on Medicare. How do you think that I can get rid of the pain you have. I said with your microsurgical skills, something new perhaps. He said Medicare does not cover microsurgery because they deem it unnecessary. How did this idiot know I might had have the cash to cover it. Anyway continues what do you want from me. All I said was your practice is all about a women's appearance. I continued with all I wanted was for you to examine me and to see if anything was wrong but never mind I won't bother you AND HE slammed THE PHONE down. I am a patient with a problem, not a criminal, not a villan nor an adversary. Apparently my present dr. told him about my case him my problems with the implant.
These doctors are not there for us with, only when it goes their way, if there is a problem, they deny it, make like we are crazy. Again, the best kept secret of the breast cancer world. I cried all night, called my dr's office the next day but my PS is on vacation. I had no other appts with my PS except to remove the implant which he knew I am desparately trying to keep. POS all of them. MONEY IS THE OPERATIVE WORD. I have been at this game too long. I did not ask for cancer, I worked all my life, taking care of a now sick husband. Again, money is the operative word.
Thanks for listening. PS when I started on the journey I had a PPO great insurance and two years ago went on Medicare.

ronqt- I am so sorry you are going through this. Unreal. I can't believe anyone could talk to you like that. Good that you know this of him now than later. I would report him, so sad that he has access to patients going through so much already. I'm not sure how some sleep at night.
I do believe there are good doctors out there, who care about their patients. I work with many, unfortunately they don't do what I need, but have given me faith in providers with passion. Taking a break may be a good thing. Just to do some more research, maybe reach out to other survivors here in your state who may be able to refer you. It's bad enough that we have to go through this crud, but to be disrespected by those who are supposed to help us is unacceptable.

Beth, I noticed all day since I posted no one replied. I am so glad you did. I do have the best PS in in the world, and yes, I have problems. But this was unbelievable. I thank you so much for your response. Due to the fact that no one responded I was going to move my post to the anger issue. I know there are decent drs. out there. I live in an area of fancy schmancy ladies, but I did not go to this arena for enhancement but out of medical necessity. I know the right people to open a mouth because I have been active with Komen, have participated in fund raises, have been in this three ring circus for too long. I need help, and yes, break is the best as you said. I thank you so much. I don't want anyone else getting talked to like I did from the egotisical young moneyhungry dr. It was my own doctor who referred him to me.But they know too. I thank you again. No one should go through this. Us gals are not to be treated like we have no idea what we are complaining about.
Have a wonderful and healthy New Year. Regards and Hugs,

I have been following this thread and I feel bad that I didn't post anything. I think Beth said it all and I guarantee that you have the support of everyone here. There is a thread called steam room and there you can find lots of complaints of uncaring doctors, at least I think that is where I have read some.

Ronqt1: sounds like to me that Doc was already on his 3rd or 4 th cocktail of the evening at 620.....or just an asshole. What a jerk! Sorry you had to hear that. I would call the hospital and report him. The next person may not be as savvy as you are and realize he was pissed off because you had the nerve to make an appointment without having private insurance! Money hungry or what

Ronqt1, it’s been my experience that with a few exceptions, surgeons don’t have the best “people skills;” and among them, PSes seem to have the most inflated yet fragile egoes. Not only that, but there is a phenomenon in medicine (as in law) of “impaired physicians,” either because of substance, health or personality issues. Maybe this guy just came off the receiving end of a nasty lawsuit, and it was your bad luck to have contacted him at his most vulnerable. Illegitimi non carborundum (don’t let the bastards grind you down). Time to search for a more empathetic surgeon--they ARE out there, especially in the Tri-State area. It may be you need a different kind of implant or have some immune or tissue sensitivity issues. You will find a solution you can live with--and we all hope it’ll be soon.

I would report him to his supervisors, your doctor, and anyone else who would listen. Totally, totally unprofessional....basically verbal abuse. I hope you can find an answer to your problem, but I can guarantee that it won't be from him. What a jerk!

MusicLover, ChiSandy, Beatmon and Ruth (Ruth I remember you from another site), Thank you my sisters, He is a young guy, just waiting to speak to my own dr. I was going to post this on SteamAnger and may still, of course I am still pissed, but thank you all so much for your support. I truly needed support and ears. Hugs to all.

Ronqt, I think it was the exercise site. I think that he needs a steam room! Seriously, he does need counselling or something. If this is how he treats patients then he is either going to get sued or go broke (from bad recommendations). If he is young, then maybe if someone puts him on the right track, he could change. If you do at least talk to your doctor about it, maybe this experience could actually help him become a better doctor!

Ruth, yes it was the exercise site. I know I have seen his reviews and his patients seem to love him. Either rich people or good insurance. As for me, I would never use him in a million years. I could be on my death bed. His days in the office are different for me when I see my PS. Thank Goodness. Hugs.

Ronnie, Hi Sweetie Hugs. Been a while. Sorry you are having such trouble. Sucks big time. You can go back and hit edit on your topic box and go back in and write what you like. I edit my topic boxes all the time. I saw your post on Steam and came here. Docs can be such assholes, assphats, analpores. If they lived through the disfigurement and pain they caused, they might try to do a better job. I'm like a Coptic cross with surgical scars. Add a sternal scar and it would be an absolute Coptic cross.
My sis had a BMX surgical scar that was keloiding. and painful. It was resolved by prednisone injections. Never looked into it, but pred is a corticosteroid. that reduces inflammation. No clue how long after her sx this was done.
Ronnie come join us on Insomniacs
