CT scan today on neck. Scared.
I supposedly had no lymph iinvolvement with my BC. Now the lymph node in my neck is swollen and has been for about 3 weeks. It's actually more in my mouth but anyway. I went to the doctor and they sent me to get an ultrasound immediately. The US showed something. They said necrosis in my lymph node and they think there is a mass. They will know more after the CT scan. I have also gone through a course of antibiotics that shrunk the swelling, but now I have a hard lump in the floor of my mouth. I'm numb. I won't find out anything until after Christmas, so I have to put on a brave face and pretend that I'm not worried. My husband doesn't want to hear "what ifs" so I can't even tell him how scared I am. I guess I just needed to get that all out. If you pray, please pray for me.

I'm so sorry you're having this scare! My husband is the same way about the what ifs and it's so frustrating that the one who you should be able to lean on and have comfort from doesn't provide what you need! I didn't think BC spread to the neck nodes or mouth. So hopefully this is something that isn't too worrisome. I'll send up some prayers for you. Hang in there and keep us posted. (((((HUGS))))

justamy... Going through something similar... No nodes last time, just confirmed it's back yesterday up in my armpit. This is crap. They say we will have options and a plan so hang in there... Ativan for the days, ambien for the nights. One day at a time til we get our marching instructions. Find someone to vent yell cry worry and plan with. My husband doesn't want to go there either though it gives me a sense of control. Also see if you have a cancer support group thro church or the hospital... They are great at listening, reassuring and hearing you birch or your fears. We gave strength in numbers. I will pray for you today and for me at my dons 4 pm children's Christmas mass. Count on it.

I'm sad to read about husbands who don't want to hear how you feel. It's not like you're saying "What if it rains tomorrow." You have a legitimate reason to be frightened.
. I hope you have someone who can be there for you. So sorry you have to spend the holidays with this scare and will be hoping for good results

Justamy, did you find out anything?

Sorry that I didn't post an update on my swollen neck. I thought I had this thread marked to email me with updates and I didn't. My swelling was actually due to trapped saliva that was making my neck and mouth swell. I have a surgery scheduled for February 11th. They are going to drain it and move the gland back so it will drain properly. They will also do a biopsy at that time but my surgeon seems pretty sure it's nothing else. I hate this BC life...looking for lumps and bumps...thank you guys for checking on me.
