Onc unsure Her2+ Review by Mayo

Biopsy was equivocal by IHC, Negative FISH at local hospital. Tumor was equivocal by IHC, Positive FISH (ratio 2.0) but my ki67 was 5 at Johns Hopkins. The Ki67 rate and fact I have ILC makes onc at Hopkins doubt positive finding. Onc sending sample to Mayo for third opinion- doesn't want to "overtreat."

I am okay with overtreating- just want to try anything that will keep me alive. Have to wait 3 weeks for results. I thought I was going to appointment for chemo treatment plan, totally surprised by this delay.

Has anyone else been on this roller coaster ?

are you heading for chemo either way? Or no chemo? I was 2.2 with amplification but I read so much about how powerful Herceptin is I am doing it. The MO left it up to me for the Herceptin because I was in a gray area. They said I absolutely had to do chemo though, so that's why I did the Herceptin. If I didn't have to do chemo, I'm not sure what I would have done

Onc leaning towards no chemo if mayo test comes back negative. My tumor was 3 cm so I asked for oncotype test in case negative for Her2 so I have more info. I assumed I would be doing chemo with Her2+ path.
