edited December 2015 in Waiting for Test Results

Hi, new here :-)

5 years ago I started this.  Bad mammogram, core biopsy, lumpectory with an end result of Not Cancer - just calcification and very dense. Atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH)  Yes!!   And of handed suggestion from one of the attendees that I either take Tamoxifen or have a doubleM .  No, but thanks.

5 years of follow-up at my local cancer center.  12/3 was my 5 yr completion.   Mam. and a breast check with the clinic right after - slides not available yet but "Nothing to worry about here! Congratulations, remember to continue to get mammograms but we no longer have to follow you".   Graduation from "not C".

Then the call back - (sounds familiar) - magnified views 12/14 and the director comes and sits (I recognize her from 5 years ago) and says there are 2 new areas same side (R) that we need to biopsy.  The tech is looking at me with those sad puppy eyes "do you want to wait until after the holidays?".  Ummmm....no....but sad eyes? really? don't make me nervous please.

Stereotactic needle biopsy on R in 2 spots on Mon 12/21.  1st spot she takes back to look at before they move me to make sure they got the right cells.  The 2nd spot she says right off the bat, no question that we got the right cells, no need to wait

...What on EARTH does that mean? Just that she could see the spot so clearly and the the needle was dead-on, or could she see the difference in the tissue removed? I've heard that sometimes it is visably clear that the tissue is unusual (although of course I know that the pathology review is the only accurate way to tell if it is cancerous or not)

2 markers in place and an ice pack and I am good to go.  (I am not one that is squirmish and it didn't hurt at all although I am tender now)

So now it is Wed 12/23 and I am waiting for her call.  It is 1:45pm and my cell is by my side at work.
