Is pectoral expansion reconstruction reverible?

I just had a right side mastectomy, nipple sparing, with immediate placement of expander under my pect muscle. I am realizing how high and un-natural the expansion is compared to my remaining breast which is naturally low and smallish ( C-cup). I do not want to mess with my remaining breast, which I told my plastic surgeon. Now I am concerned that the new foob will be on my collar bone no where near alignment with my breast. If that turns out to be the case, can I have the implant removed and "go flat" or is my pectoral muscle forever stretched out of shape? If the expansion is not reversible, then I think I will tell my surgeon I changed my mind and just have the expander removed.

Hi Zelena, and welcome to our community! We are sorry that you have this additional concern. This is a good conversation for your plastic surgeon. They probably haven't fully expanded/stretched it yet, correct?

We hope you hear from some others who have had similar experiences.

    We're here for you!

My question is really can this procedure be reversed if I end up unhappy with the final result? Also, I did talk to my PS about my concern and he said "you let me worry abut that" - basically no answer, which is why I am turning to the internet for inform

Hi Zelena, I think what your PS meant by his evasive answer, is to say that he will do all necessary adjustments during the exchange surgery. Also, the implant will take some time to 'settle' - even after the exchange.
