edited December 2015 in Waiting for Test Results

I had a core needle biopsy done Tuesday after having a mammogram and sonogram done that Monday. After 2 hours if switching back and forth between the two, they were finally about to see a mass using 3D imaging tool in my left breast. During biopsy, they took 6-7 different tissue samples. Got a call Friday telling me I needed to schedule an an appt with breast surgeon asap and the soonest they could get me in was today at 1:15pm. The lady couldn't tell me anything more as the report came back to Ob/Gyn and he had left for the day. I'm freaking out! Why would I have to meet with breast surgeon?

Try NOT to panic. Most lumps are benign. It could be something benign that just has to come out. Good luck and please keep us posted. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more about it....

I can understand your concern. The waiting is horrendous. I think we all do better when we have all the details. Otherwise our minds wonder to very dark places. The reality is almost always better. Write down all your questions before you go. Again good luck and keep us posted...

Im just so pissed that they left me all weekend to dwell over this with really no answers. Treatment options only lead me to believe that it is cancer...

Yea that stinks. I wish more facilities and /or docs would be more sensitive to how difficult it is for us to wait. It seems especially hard during the holiday season. It seems to makes things even better or even worse. I just private messaged you if you would like to talk more. Again good luck....

hi Baby. Yes, this is the scariest part. The unknown. Please let us know what the BS Recommended. The wait time is the worst, but please keep in mind that even the most aggressive cancer is fairly slow. Hugs and prayers your way
