About to join you all.
I've been lurking and trying to educate myself a bit since a lump was found about 10 days ago.
I received the biopsy report yesterday, and yes, I have IDC. Don't have an appointment yet with surgeon,
but seem to be unnaturally calm. Could be that I'm 75, but more likely that I've just been through a shockingly anxious time
with a highly suspicious mass (ovary) and had a total hysterectomy. (All benign) My Anxiety reservoir is all used up, so I plan to just jog along and go with the flow.
Without any input but the pathology results, I'm trying to reassure myself by classifying results into "not so bad", or "could be better".
What I know.
IDC most common so "not so bad"
2.6 cm. "could be better" but "not so bad"
No non hilar blood flow in lymph nodes. Nothing obviously showing but need to be checked surgically. "not so bad"
Both PR. and ER 100% positive. "Think that's good."
HER +21/2 but need t be sent for FISH "not so Good"
Nottingham score 6. Intermediate. " Neither good nor bad"
Mitosis 1 "Very good" I think.
What do you more educated women think? This will have to hold me until a Doc. straightens me out
Sure glad I found this forum as I find it comforting to be among others with the same challenges.
I think I'll keep this private within my family. (I just read a discussion about this)
With my recent scare, some of my friends would approach with SAD SAD eyes and whisper "How AAARE you?" and
even people.I didn't know well would try to hug me! I'd reply "JUST DANDY thanks" Think I may have scared them.
Know their intentions were good, but I'd rather just carry on business as usual.
Wishing everyone well in their personal journies, Valli.

I just want to wish you the best, it's sounds like you are mentally ready and that's great. I am no expert and I think no one can tell you for sure how this is going to go. I know nothing about FISH or Nottingham Scores.

Very different DX here and know nothing about some of your DX. When I was DXd there weren't many/if any who came to me in an objectionable/condescending way. There were a few close friends (and my other 'Sons' - friends of Son to who I was/am Mom) did ask very intelligent/sensible questions but never treated me any different than before. Apparently, the ignorant/foolish ones all took their rediculous comments to Hubby and Son who both set them straight quickly. There is no family to deal with as Hubby and I are both only children and our parents have been gone for more than 25 yrs.
Don't put a minutes thought about the 'pebbles' - they aren't worth the energy that can be put to better use.

Just wanted to address the HER2 status: Initially my HER2 came back at 2+, equivocal. I kinda sweated that until the FISH test revealed that I was HER2-. Hopefully, you will have the same result.

you'll probably find out who the real, strong, people are in your life. You'll also probably find that some distance themselves. (Really? I'm not contagious!). I couldn't stand the pity either. My favorite cousin in the whole world completely ignored me through it all. Guess she couldn't handle it. When I was healed, from my Mx, she decided to know me again. I decided, no,thank you. So far, your pathology sounds like a garden variety tumor, as my Bs called mine. That's a good

Wishing you all the best, Valli. I'm in the same club here... just diagnosed this past week. *Hugs!*
