    Hi Ladies,

I just found this group. I just completed my 3rd round of chemo, I have 5 more to go. My first round was not good, my second and third round are much better. I've been doing some research on the stomach issues due to chemo. One thing that I think has made a huge difference for me is drinking Kefir. It's a probiotic drink that you can get from the grocery store, it tastes like a yogurt smoothie. I have had no stomach pain this third round! I also take a lot of Epsom Salt baths with essential oils, this helps with the body aches. Peppermint oil helps with digestive issues as well. I just wanted to let you know a few things that I am doing that is really helping me a lot.

I will be starting my first chemo on January 5th. I totally understand the fears - have experienced most of them myself. Reading these posts have really helped to calm the fears. I want to learn more about things that will help to control the side effects and may chemo less frightening. Has anyone tried any form of naturopathic medicine or therapies that help?

yes, I got a massage a day before each chemo, and acupuncture the day afterwards. I think it helped! I also iced my hands and feet during chemo, drank tons of water, and exercised as much as I could, even if it was just walking around the block.

You really took charge, tshire. I'm curious to know if there was a reason you chose to have the massage before and the acupuncture after. Was there something intentional about this timing?

Daisymay, I made a playlist of calming and uplifting music, and during infusions I would close my eyes and do some deep breathing while I listened. I actually started this because I couldn't do anything else while sleepy from Benadryl, but I think it was probably a helpful mind-body healing thing.

I mostly did massage before to relax me and ease anxiety, and acupuncture afterwards to address the unpleasant side effects.

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks, Tiffany.
