Awaiting my mum's results Tues 15th dec
Hi,
I'm 25 and my mum is 54. She found a small lump in her breast about 6 weeks ago and was sent for a mammogram. The radiologist said lump looked small but 'not good' and that she also had 'thickening lymph nodes'. This was an absolute shock for my poor mum who thought it would be a quick in and out and everything fine.
She came home and told myself and my dad and she was booked in for a core needle biopsy the next week (Wednesday 9th December). None of us could stop the feeling of devastation and the week leading up to it was awful for all of us. Mum has been so strong, only a couple of tears in front of us.
During the first appointment with the consultant/biopsy last Wednesday he said not to worry and didn't seem too concerned. But he did send my mum for blood tests and a chest x ray on the same day.
They have told us the results could take up to 2weeks.... if they are here on Monday the consultant will see us Tuesday. The nurse said to mum she will be with her when she gets them.
I don't want to voice my concerns because I'm terrified. My mum's an accident and emergency nurse and I'm a physio, she's the most gentle, selfless person who is so patient and kind. I'm petrified it may have spread, we've done nice things whilst we wait and were all trying to get on with it but everything mum does makes me think it might have.
I think she's finding it harder with all the Christmas songs and it being this time of the year. I don't know why I've written this I just needed to talk to someone.
Anyone going through this you're not alone. Please God let it be good news on Tuesday Xxx

Its so sad reading this but I have to tell you that we appear to be on the same situation right now. Dealing through all this istough knowing christmas is near. Im 27 and my mom is 52.. its just a few days ago since she told us about her breast mass and Its quite big already at5cm. Mammogram showed birads4c. Shell be having excision biopsy with possible mastectomy next week. Were still hopeful though that a miracle could happen and that the mass would turn out benign.
