Got diagnosed on December 3, 2015

Twirp26 is absolutely right. I completely understand what you are feeling but it will get better once things start moving along. The initial news will leave you in shock, but you will feel better once you meet with the doctors and get a plan going. I too, still get scared but you need to stay positive!! I know its easier said than done, but it does help. I have had my share of meltdowns but you have to pull yourself up and tell yourself you will beat this!! You are not alone and I can't say enough about this site in the short time I have been on here and how it encourages me!!!

That fear is normal, but like the others have said....it DOES get easier. (I know that's hard to believe. I didn't believe it either, but it's true!)
I was diagnosed about a month ago and my surgery is scheduled for this week. While obviously, I'm not looking forward to it and have some anxiety about, I do feel MUCH better knowing that a plan is in place and I'm doing something to rid myself of this cancer!

This place has been AMAZING and I hope that you stay around, so you can get to know the ladies here. I've found so much support, encouragement, and love. If you have to go through this crap, it helps to go through it with some fantastic ladies who know just how you feel!

I'm so sorry about your diagnosis, Sally22. I too was diagnosed December 3rd. The mass was so large (3.6 cm, surrounded by a wide area of lots of bright stars--different than my normal chalk-like dense breast tissue)--that the breast surgeon told me I had cancer after the 3D mamomagrom and sonogram but before the biopsy. They were so concerned that they did an ultrasound-guided core biopsy the same day. I was supposed to get the results today (expedited), but was told they pathologist was still working on it. My mother had bilateral breast cancer, and my sister was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer earlier this year. I too have an MRI scheduled next week.

I'm sorry if this post has turned out to be more about me. Just scared, just like you. The hairs on my neck stood up when I saw the heading of your post.

I am thinking of you and hoping the pronosis and outcome is on the better part of the spectrum.

It stinks! not easy on us or our families. All great advice from the ladies.

This is the time that you need to be selfish & take care of yourself, first. We are the caretakers of our hubby's & kids. They can help you now.

I had a lumpectomy. It is easier than a mastcetomy, but sometimes not possible. Taking the Cancer out of my Breast was a easy heal. I had 7 nodes removed, that incision & area was very uncomfortable.

Keep busy, my house got a through cleaning waiting for surgery

Glad there's no evidence in your left breast, though MRIs are a noisy to put it mildly! I had three before my husband got stuck in close enough proximity to the machine to actually HEAR the damn thing whomping and crashing and backing and forthing. Earplugs just do not cut it. Then he believed me.

hello sweetie we know your feelins been there once treatment plan in effect things will calm down i was devastated at diagnosis planning my 2nd marriage an only 42yrs old But Praise God im now a 21yr Survivor. msphil(idc stage2 0\3 nodes Lmast chemo and rads 5yrs on tamoxifen.)
