This is my second time getting a biopsy. First time I had a stereotactic biopsy that was not of worry at that time. 2015 I have my yearly flow up and I am terrified. They found a 1.3 cm lump with blood supply. Can anyone talk to me?

I know you're scared and I hope this turns out to be nothing. I can't speak to the tumor with blood supply--that does seem concerning, but it is not, of itself, diagnostic. I have had two biopsies myself. The first one was the scariest because I had never had one before--stereotactic--and it just seemed so involved. The second one was...hmmm...the biopsy itself was fine. Painless, in fact. But something in my gut told me that it was going to be BC and it was. A small one, just 1.8cm, stage 1, grade 2.

Of course I was upset when I found out (on vacation!) but I'm a pretty pragmatic person--whatever will be, will be. I took a few moments to feel bad, then pulled on my boots and started marching. There was really no benefit is sitting in my sorrow. At first I was very anxious, but once I had a plan in place I found my anxiety diminished and my mind more settled. At this point, I'm over halfway done with chemo and for the most part feeling pretty good. I would rather not have had to deal with all this, but I'm giving it all I've got and I will survive this.

Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

    Hi labrinkley:

Sorry you find yourself here. The waiting and worrying and unknown is very difficult. While increased blood flow can be suspicious, only the pathology can definitively establish whether the lump is malignant or benign.

Try to stay in the moment and keep busy doing simple things you enjoy while you wait. I am sending positive thoughts your way and hoping for benign results for you.
