Nuclear Injection!

Ohhhhh boy! I go in this afternoon, for the nuclear injection. I think I'm more nervous about this than the surgery. (Although I'm pretty nervous about the surgery too!)

I'm due to get my period on Sunday which means my breasts are SUPER sore right now. This nuclear injection is going to hurt like hell, isn't it? Especially since my breast is already sore and sensitive. I have the numbing cream to put on prior to the injection, I'm hoping beyond hope that it helps!

Can anyone tell me how long this nuclear injection procedure is? Just a few shots and you're done or is it a lengthy procedure? I'm not getting the wire until tomorrow, (right before surgery), and was told I'll get a local for that. But no local for the nuclear injection.

Sorry if I'm a pain in the ass. I'm just getting nervous! LOL!
Thanks for understanding!

I had bi-lateral sentinel node biopsies, 4 injections around each nipple which just takes a couple of minutes, it stings during the injection - but for me, it was a non-event.  I did not use any numbing or local anesthetic.  I used EMLA cream during chemo and it does work - I would suggest applying a thick layer about an hour prior and using a piece of plastic wrap over it to keep it in place.  Good luck, you'll do fine!
