San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2015. Dec.8-12
https://www.sabcs.org/Program/Schedule-at-a-Glance
Yep! It's commencing in a few short weeks from now! Was hoping TailorX would be further discussed, but I don't see anything scheduled yet for that topic.
With Breast Cancer Awareness month in the rearview mirror, it is time to look ahead to Texas!

I think the reason there won’t be much more data on TailoRx yet is because they are still trying to crunch the data on postmenopausal women with Oncotype scores from 11-17 and didn’t opt for chemo; they may find much the same results as with those who scored <10.
-
All 1200+ Abstracts were posted last month.
TAILORx is among them. P2-08-01 -
yay!
-
Looking forward to it! Thanks to all for keeping us updated.
-
Sandy, wasn't part of the issue that there have not been enough events in the 11-25 range to draw any conclusions yet?

My onco is at this conference. I have an appointment next week and will ask him what is new.

With over 1400 papers accepted and a plethora of presentations/discussions, keeping up with the various Twitter feeds is mind numbing.
Here's one that I thought was interesting.
"Women with Luminal A breast cancer derive no benefit from adjuvant chemo."
Despite several limitations to their study, researchers analyzed data from the DBCG 77B trial (started in 1977) and found that Adjuvant chemo conferred no long-term DFS benefit to premenopausal women with invasive Luminal A breast cancer. -
Some of the topics I saw listed could be real game changers, like the above example. Hoping for real progress.
-
The study’s authors admitted that the chemo drugs they used were earlier-generation (CMF) therapy--the study didn’t include women getting anthracyclines or taxanes, more commonly used today in conjunction with Cytoxan, nor those HER2+ getting targeted therapy, and ER+ women getting endocrine therapy. So OncotypeDX and MammoPrint are still more reliable predictors.
-
Opps, posted something here that I meant for another thread. Definitely watching this thread though!
-
MO is at this conference also.

"Denosumab Demonstrates Survival Benefit in Postmenopausal Women" which discusses this Phase 3 trial: A Randomised, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Multi-Centre Phase 3 Study to Determine the Treatment Effect of Denosumab in Subjects With Non-Metastatic Breast Cancer Receiving AI's.
Breastcancer.org just posted a video (here) discussing this bone-strengthening drug Denosumab and how it reduces the risk of recurrence for HR+ postmenopausal women.
Twitter comments vary. Some say the trial has limited statistical power. Others say it supports meta-analysis of adjuvant bisphosphonates, and gives support for role of osteoclast-targeted agents. -

"Avelumab Effective in PD-L1-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer"
Avelumab is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) directed against the PD-L1 protein, with potential immune checkpoint inhibitory and antineoplastic activities. This immunotherapy was effective in PD-L1-positive metastatic patients, particularly for the triple-negative cohort.
These results come from a small Phase IB trial, enrolling 168 patients. -

Re: the denosumab study--surprised at the very low incidence of SEs that wouldn’t have been expected with AIs alone. Guess I may have to put up with a few days of fever twice a year, if it keeps me from breaking my hips & spine; the anti-cancer benefit would be lagniappe.
