How is this possible? Saw my surgeon yesterday, he said that my micros are so small I am lucky my radiologist was able to see them. He felt my breast and can feel an indentation where they did the estereotatic biopsy, about 1cm

How is possible to see a tiny microcalcifications and not a 1 cm lump.

Mammos and ultrasounds do not pick up all breast lumps. Thats really a myth. The MRI is the best tool especially if you are young and/or have dense breasts. Just please keep in mind that MRIs have a lot of false positives which may result in more biopsies. So don't panic if that happens. IMO everyone should have a MRI before any treatment decisions are made. Good luck and keep us posted...

I am going to push for taking the hole breast out anyways, no way I go through another biopsy or I will have a heart attack.

Try not to make any treatment decisions until you have all the facts. Sometimes the scenario changes. Its a scary time and you should really take the anti anxiety meds. Try them at night first to see how you handle them. Im going to private message you....

I just feel that I am sitting here doing nothing just waiting for doctors appointments while the tumor in my breast is growing

KonaKona this part, the waiting, is truly the worst. These tumors are very slow growing. While waiting fur surgery, I imagined a piece of the tumor breaking off and heading for my lymph nodes, then to my liver or lungs. Try to do some fun activities to take your mind off things. Last year prior to my post op doctor appts I went away for the weekend and visited several wineries.

If there is a lump the tumor has grown large enough to feel. This is good news that it is so small. Mine was the same. It's a cluster of cells that are malignant but not a totally walled off cluster that we can feel. Mammograms are why we are diagnosed early. Many times by the time they can be felt it's large and in charge. Do you know our government is trying to pass resolutions to have mammograms start later and not be yearly? Talk to your congressman ladies!!

Does anyone know if I can take Alprazolam before my MRI next week? I really hope so because I don't think I will be able to do it

The breast MRI isn't too scary. Your head isn't in the machine so I didn't really feel closed in. The worst is that you have to have your arms above your head and my hand went numb. The clicking sounds are weird but not terrible. The contrast die can give you a headache but I went to movies after and just took a giant bottle of water. Call the MRI place and ask if you can take the drug. I bet it's a yes. Best wishes!

It’s not an invasive procedure requiring you to be fully un-drugged to sign the consent, so as long as someone else does the driving you should be fine to take that Xanax.
