Best eyebrow replacements/powder??

Options

Has anyone found a great product to use for eyebrows that doesn't scream "fake!"? Like at Sephora? I'm always very leary about just ordering it online as the colors don't look like what they show and you can't try it before buying. So, anyone? Thanks!

Hi Artista, I really like Anastasia powder/wax which you can get at sephoras. Since my brows never regrew  to their former glory, I still use it (which a small slanted brush) and prefer the look over pencils. I use it in the summer as well and find that it stays put even when sweating. If your completely missing your brows you can use the powder first and then do get a pencil and draw on little "hairs". I found the liquid marker type worked best for this. I hope this helps

Ooh, ooh! Pick me! I know a good one, too. Tarte Amazonian clay waterproof brow mousse, from Sephora. It has a texture that doesn't look fake, and it stays on until you want to take it off (with a makeup remover wipe). It comes with a two-sided tool that has a slanted brush end for painting it on, and a spoolie end for blending and removing excess until you have just the darkness you want. Good for both absent and thin brows. It gets a 4 from EWGs Skin Deep cosmetics safety web site, which is pretty good for this type of product.

Wow, no brow back after Taxotere? Did your hair and lashes come back at least?

I'm using elf. Ten bucks at target and works great.

I had my eyebrows tattooed recently. They were thinning with empty spots. It is expensive but wow, it's nice. Tried all kinds of things but my skin is oily and ended up smudged all the time.

If my brows don't come back or come back really bad then I'd do the tatoo. I think I got a quote in the summer of $800. Yikes! And it has to be redone. Do you know how often?

Oh that's really expensive! I paid C$380.00 which includes touch ups because inevitably you will need them after 1 month and even another 1 month later. It lasts about 3-4 years before you need to have it redone. Shop around, that's way too expensive. I was referred by my esthetician who had seen a lot of her work. This lady I went to works out of her house and is a bit cheaper than others. Here in Quebec, it can vary from C$400.00 to C$500.00.

My eyebrows didn't fill back in after my initial diagnosis and chemo. Then when I started chemo for Mets in May, what little brows I did have fell out along with the eyelashes. So I also did the eyebrow tattoos back in the early summer. Very happy with them. She only does makeup tattooing and is a registered nurse (as an RN she could use Lidocaine for numbing). She charged $375.00 with one touch up within a month. They will have to be redone in 3-4 years.

Like Tresjoli, I use elf. Gone through several wax/powder combos that were quite expensive, but it never looked "right". They always ended up looking fake. The elf, where I buy, has only two options...blonde/brunette so a no-brainer for choosing. Color is perfect, costs 3 bucks, goes on quick, easy/stays on and no parabens.

I use Bomb Proof Brows by Two Faced. It's a wax/gel based product that you apply to your brow using a little slanted brush, and then blend using the other, bristly end of the brush. It's very long lasting and creates a great, natural looking brow. You can sleep in it and it stays put. Unless you sweat a lot, it can last for 2 or 3 days before wearing off. My brows have grown back in, but I still like using it because they've always been blonde and sparse, even before chemo. And it sticks even better to any brow hair you may have. My stylist got it for me, but you can probably get it from Ulta.

I used the Universal Brow Pencil and the accompanying Brow Buddy from Billion Dollar Brows. You can buy these on line. Loved them. The Brow Buddy helps you make sure you have the correct shape, especially if you lose all your brows and the Universal Brow Pencil lasts a long time and is truly universal!! I lost sections of my brows, not all of them and this was the perfect fill in and lasts until you take it off with make up remover. Looks really natural. Good luck

I got the Anatasia dark brown. Tried it in Sephora and looks pretty good vs pencil. I still have a lot of hair so the test will be when it's gone. Then I get home and look and it looks too dark. My hair is gone, my skin is fairly fair and with my thick eyelashes slowly going, the dark brown screams eyebrows. So rather than driving 40 min to Sephora again, I went online and ordered Tate Amazonian mousse in medium brown. So now I have both brands but just can't see wearing the dark brown. Not sure why I got it then... oh well.

I never used to use makeup regularly, so I am a newbie and have purchased several items that didn't work out. I have found there is just some trial and error until you find the right products. Good luck!
