My grandchildren also inspire my fight Jclc83. They are such a joy.

A visit to Canada in summer, (I'm a winter wimp), is definitely near the top of my bucket list.

Hubby and I love the outdoors and visiting National Parks. We had a campervan in the past and have been looking for another for some time. Hubby called this morning saying he saw one for sale that may tick all our boxes but now I have this niggling thought that maybe we shouldn't "waste" our savings on it with my health as it is. Maybe my health is all the more reason we should buy it. Feeling undecided.

And of course would like to finish our house renovations.

I don't really have anything I would want to put on a bucket list. My main hope is just for more time. I hope to at least be able to raise all.of my kids to adulthood. My youngest is going to be 2 next month.

We gave a travel trailer love to camp. We actually had to cancel several trips because of breat cancer this fall. We booked a trip.in March, but I am fearful something will set my chemo schedule off amd we won't be able to go.

Jclc83, I sent you a pm about facebook!

I've had a low grade (99-99.5) fever all day along with chills, aches and tiredness. I finally gave in and called the MO on call. He said I don't have to come in unless my fever is 100.4. He also said I could go ahead and take tylenol or ibuprofen for the low fever. I thought that was kind of weird because how would I know then if I have a serious infection if the ibuprofen masks it? I guess when it is wearing off? He also said I was quite aways off fom my last infusion so my counts should be back up by now and they were great last time. Anyways, I was glad not to be told I have to go in. Just hoping I feel better by tomorrow so I can get the last of the stuff for Thanksgiving!

I joined the human race today and got to do some Thanksgiving shopping. Thank goodness I can lean on shopping carts lol. Now I just have to make the stuff for the dinner that I wasn't supposed have to do any work for.

Homeschool I hope you get some help! Here's to more time and many, many more Thanksgivings

    Hi Everyone ,

I finished my 4-round TC chemo in Oct 2015 and ended with extreme low platelet and white blood cell counts. Felt so down after post-chemo. don't know if platelet and white blood cells will increase after a few months? I have more surgeries ahead of me. would like to hear from you.............

Oaklady, they should come back up pretty quickly, like a few weeksto a month from what I understand. They should give you at least a month before any surgery. Are they?

Has anyone else had any problems with tinnitus from chemo? Since just before my third round last week, I have had really annoying tinnitus in one ear. I mentioned it to my MO, and she didn't seem concerned, but she's not living with the ringing in her ear either. It's driving me crazy!

I have had tinnitus for more than ten years so I feel for ya. I was hoping chemo would make it go away but no luck.

I've had tinnitus for years, but I have noticed it more since I started chemo. It's especially bad during the first week after chemo. I also notice it more after taking the Compazine, for nausea. I switched to Zofran and that solved the problem. Unfortunatley, the tinnitus remains, albeit at the normal level. I just try to ignore it as much as I can.

Anyone else gag and feel sick when you get your port flushed? A nurse recommendedsuckers so I tried that last time it helped a bit. I felt like a little kid getting out my sucker when getting my blood draws done. Lol

hi everyone! I'm back, but I need to get caught up on all the posts. :) Italy was awesome (and exhausting!) and despite all of my efforts, Aireborne, hand sanitizer and hand washing, I got sick. Just a bad cold, and I'm on the upswing, but still a bummer. I was so glad I had Earplanes and Afrin for the plane ride home- they saved my ears during the decent.

I hope everyone had a good week, and I look forward to catching up!

Oh no, Amybeader! So sorry you got sick. I'm glad you got to go though and at least you didn't get so sick you needed to be hospitalized. Glad you made it home safely!

AmyBeader, i'm so glad your Italy trip went well, even if you did catch a cold. I almost always catch some kind of upper respiratory something when I fly. Keep doing what you're doing. You know what they say--a cold will last 7 days or a week, one or the other.

Homeschool--I get a weird taste in my mouth when they flush my port, but it's not gag-worthy. It sorta tastes faintly of lemons. Sometimes I suck on a lemon drop to mask the taste.

I have a wig question--How is this think supposed to sit? Specifically, does the wig fit behind my ears or on the top part of my ears? I've been wearing it so that it hugs my ears, but it's causing some pain. It hurts for up to 2 days after I wear it for 6-7 hours. I've tried wearing it behind my ears, so it's not touching the top of the ears, but then it feels like it's a bit tippy. Anybody got some advice for me?

Day 8 of cycle #3, and I'm still feeling buzzy and weird. The big D is here too...ugh! The fatigue is so much worse this round...hard to imagine it's cumulative from here...it doesn't seem like it can get too much worse

I really wish someone would tell me that a big plate of crispy French fries is all I need to feel better right now. A girl can dream, right?

Oh no, Durhamgirl! I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well still on day 8. That was me this past round (3 as well) also. I am with you on the fatigue. It's depressing to think it may get worse and worse. I nap every day as it is.

Mustlovepoodles, I'm clueless in the wig thing too. I would think it would go behind your ears sonic can more mimic your natural hairline. I have only tried mine on a few time though as I just feel like it looks weird and it feels weird.

    Hi All!

I was kind of off the grid last week - or tried to be as best I could. Need to catch up on everything...reading through all your posts now.

Thanksgiving was great (met a lot of my partner's family and friends), except my taste buds were the worst so far after chemo last Monday and everything tasted weird. Bleh! I just want to pour hot sauce on my tongue every few minutes because that gets rid of the yucky taste in my mouth.

The first bald pic of me made it to Facebook (my partner's friend posted it and tagged me) and it started a flurry of inquiries/comments ...which I didn't want. I usually only post an annual summary of pictures on FB at the end of every year (not much during the year at all), and my 2015 summary will contain many bald pics of me and details about what is going on....but I control what and when they are shared. I wasn't ready for people I'm not really close to asking me questions or commenting on how I look (which is fabulous!! hahaha!)

After round 3 TC I seem to fatigue quicker, but I'm still sticking with daily exercise. Even ran 8 miles Thanksgiving morning. Might have to cut back on work a couple hours each day because I will choose exercise over work and work makes me the most tired because of the being mentally "on" and having to talk to so many people. Tired for me means I start feeling sick - at least I figured that out! I needed to rest for at least 1-2 hours every afternoon last week and I hadn't done that ever before.

Waiting for the big lull in my white count....it is coming in a couple of days. Chemo will be 3 days early for round 4 if my body can take it. A little concerned about that.

I hope everyone continues to get through each day with fewer side effects and feeling strong!

Big hugs and kisses to all of you!! (somehow without spreading germs!) xoxoxox

Oh I try to keep all my personal stuff off Facebook. I can imagine how you feel Andraxo!

Welcome back AmyBeader. I hope you had a great time

It's been 12 days since my round 3 of TC. I tried to do some Chanukah shopping today by going out to the mall. I could hardly make it to Macy's from the parking lot. I can't believe how exhausted I get. I don't even walk the same anymore. I thought I'd have a little more oomph by now. Three more rounds to go If it's cumulative I can't imagine how I'll feel in the upcoming weeks.

They say you're only as young as you feel lol.

oh...and brain fog. Having trouble focusing. Always seem to be distracted and lose my train of thought. Ugh! Like Jclc83 worrying about cumulative fatigue, I'm worrying about cumulative chemo brain fog. *sigh*

It really is taking longer to bounce back after each round.  I just finished round 4 of AC.  Side effects are dragging out longer.  More fatigued.  I hope that the Taxol is easier, but the doctor told me to expect more muscle/ bone pain.  GREAT!

I have not posted a bald pic of myself on facebook either.  I sent some to family by email, but that's all.

I'm on day 6 post number 5 AC. One more to go. I'm really wondering if I'm going to make it. My tummy is upset, the big D comes and goes, I'm having trouble swallowing, which makes it hard to eat and drink, everything tastes like metal and the fatigue is getting the best of me. But, I've made it this far and I will make it to the end of this, too. Somehow! Tomorrow I go for labs and I'm sure my white count is down. So more neupogen shots! That's okay as long as it gets me to the final infusion.

Durhamgirl, I know what you mean about the fries! I watch all these wonderful commercials with all this wonderful food and I think...if only I could taste that, I would feel better!!!

4th and final round AC yesterday. I started feeling sick right before chemo and couldn't figure out why. I felt absolutely horrible after chemo all day and night. Nausea, the big D. This morning my 3 year old started throwing up Apparently it maybe wasn't the chemo at all, but a stomach bug. At least I came down with it when my immune system is up.
