You should be able to drive. I drove myself to my appointment with the micropigmentation specialist at the medical center. I had no restrictions afterwards other than to keep the tattoo dry and covered for a certain period of time.

You will be a little sore but fine to drive.

I drove back to Michigan right from Vinnie's office. It was a 9 hour drive and I drove the whole way and felt fine. Two Tylenol and I was all set. He really is amazing!

Monday's the day! Tips, pointers, etc? Never had a tattoo before. I know there's not much feeling in that area.

Did anyone do any other tattoos or piercings while there?

Mary - the day I was there a lady was getting a nipple ring tattoo in the nipple tattoo! Good luck! It'll be fun!

mary625 - farmerlucy is absolutely right! Those of us who have made the pilgrimage to Finksburg before you, can pretty much guarantee that you WILL have fun! Vinnie is a hoot and he'll keep you entertained the entire time you're in the chair. (And don't be surprised to find that you may have more feeling in the girls than you thought you did - but trust us, the experience is so worth any discomfort! So enjoy yourself on Monday and remember to check back in and let us know how it went. (So excited for you! This is a decision that will change your world!)

It went very, very well. I can't believe what he created right before my eyes. I was able to watch the first one being done in the mirror. I look down into my bra to check on them, and I'm astonished. My sister was blown away.

Mary - Vinnie is such a special artist. And the difference in how we feel about ourselves after he has done is magic is nothing short of miraculous. I was blown away at how emotional I was after my tattooing. Congratulations!

I was very happy with his work, but I didn't get emotional or have any feelings of closure. I drove away with my sister and commented that it was pretty weird that I was at the "end of the journey." Maybe it's because of my high stage and how vigilant I remain.

mary625 - CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the club! Yes, that 3D illusion he's able to create really is quite astonishing. (I still smile when I catch a glimpse of them in the mirror...) I'm so happy to hear that your 'trip to see Vinnie' went well!

Not sure if this has been discussed, but what is an appropriate tip to give to Vinnie? Thanks.

Since he is the owner of his business, I didn't give him a tip but I don't know about anyone else.

bethq - I felt like I wanted to bring him a little token of appreciation - so I made him a mug. It says 'VINNIE MYERS, the breast man for the job!' and I know he still has it because it shows up at right about the 51 second mark on this video...

I'd made two because I couldn't decide between two designs, and after I gave Vinnie his, I got to keep the other one!

I called and scheduled an appointment with Vinnie at his Baltimore location. FYI, he is scheduling into May 2016 this time. Totally fine with me--that is when I wanted to have it done anyway.

Don't know how it would work on skin, but in the school I work at we use rubbing alcohol to remove graffitti done in sharpie marker

I have used alcohol, goo-gone, and nail polish remover, separately (don't mix them). I would start with the alcohol first and be very careful of any open wounds--maybe use a Qtip to apply the product to control the area coming in contact with the chemical.

Has anyone gone to "forma naturalis" to have their 3d tattoos done by Luke? I would love to hear from you. I have a consult in a couple weeks. Thanks. It's in Pittsburgh, PA.

what is that kingster? Has anyone had there tattoo fade? I didn't go to Vince but I had to get mine retouched 2 times. Looking like it may be fading again and just had it done on Monday.

My PS explained to me that the tattoos he does uses some type of vegetable based ink that fades but that regular tattoo artists like Vinnie use a different type of ink that doesn't fade near as much. Don't know if that's true but my Vinnie tattoo is 18 months old and hasn't faded a lick!

Lorbgoo---Maybe you could make it to Amy Black in Richmond, VA. I hear she does a great job as well and maybe she would be close enough that it wouldn't cost too much. I also hear she has a fund available for women who can't really afford the "Vinnies".

I'm going through the same search now. I'm scheduled for July 7.

I'm wondering about flying there and back by myself. Just because of the expense. Has anyone else gone there alone? How was it?

I'm referring to Baltimore by the way. I'm just a little nervous, but really think I could handle this alone, I think. I'm obviously wavering.

Where should I stay if I don't have a rental car? Is it necessary to stay for a few days afterwards to make sure there are no complications?

    Thanks!

Quick question. For those who have gotten the 3D tattoo -- did anyone do the nipple reconstruction.. then have the tattoo? Wife is unsure if she wants to do the nipple recon and the tattoo.. or just the tattoo

Lharry, the light rail in and aound surrounding towns in Baltimore is excellent and so you can stay outside of Baltimore proper (and pay a lot less money btw) and still easily get where you need to. My husband was born and raised in the Baltimore area and we always go every spring (to see the Orioles, what else? LOL) and we stay in North Linthicum (right next to BWI airport) and take the train in to the city. It lets us off right near the stadium and near the harbor. Not sure where Vinnie's shop is, but you could google the light rail and see where it stops in relation to the shop? Hope it goes well for all of you! I had a lumpectomy so don't need a tat but I have heard of Vinnie even though I don't need him!
