Does anyone have shoulder pain from the armidex? I have had one shoulder ache ever since I went on armidex and am considering trying a different drug

I was crippled in my upper back, shoulder area on Arimidx. I have been off 2 weeks and no pain. But, I start Femara tomorrow.

Glad I found this thread, but sorry you're having the same problem I am. I just posted this in another forum. Duplicating it here:

I've been on Arimidex for only about four months. I have constant hot flashes, which seem to be abating somewhat. A little over a week ago, I started having a dull ache under my right shoulder blade. (My lumpectomy was on the left side back in March 2015.) Last night it got really bad. It felt worse when I lay on my left side-- couldn't find a way to position my right arm that wasn't excruciating. Felt better when I lay on the painful side.

Of course, this is a holiday weekend (yesterday was Thanksgiving)...I will call the onc when the workday begins, but don't have much hope of finding her in. I've been taking ibuprofen, but don't want to overdo that, as I had a dental implant last week, and I had already been taking big doses. Just got out the heating pad to see if that helps.

Has anyone had shoulder pain on one side like this? Needless to say, I'm alarmed and worried, and I'm hoping it's a side effect of the drug. The pain is bothersome, but I'm more worried about what the painmeans.

Heating pad is helping a lot.

ETA: Just called the onc. Office closed til Monday (today is Friday). Don't think this is a medical emergency.

i have started with right shoulder pain, same side as my mx and recon. I am on Letrozole, just over 3 years now. Has anyone been to docs/BS about it? Perhaps it might be lymphedema?

Oncologists told me today that joint pain can be a side affect of Arimidex
