Rash under arm after shaving-Should I be concerned?

Options

I was originally diagnosed with stage 1 IDC with micrometatisis to 3 lymph nodes back in December of 2011. I underwent 4 treatments of chemo and radiation after having a bilateral mastectomy. Just last week I shaved under my arms and now have a rash under my left arm(same side as the breast cancer). Should I be concerned?

rashes can occur after shaving. Maybe try hydrocortisone for a couple days and if it persists, call the doc

What sort of razor did you use sjohn724?

My breast nurse told me after mastectomy and SNB that I should only ever use (forever more) an electric razor to shave under that arm. I don't have an electric razor so that armpit has stayed hairy since surgery on the 9th Oct. My hair is falling out now so chemo will take care of it for a while. Got to look for the positives. LOL.

    Hope your rash has settled.
