Hope, it is such a beautiful day here on our central California coast. I just want you to know that I am so grateful and thankful for all of your posts on the Ibrance/Affinitor/Bone Mets boards. You have helped so many of us as we go through these treatments. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Pearlady, I tried to reply to your PM and it said you are not taking personal messages. Is this correct?

    Thinking of you, Hope!

Someone on another thread saw a post from Hope elsewhere (like another blog) on Dec 1st! Sorry I forget what thread but will try and backtrack to find it.

It was GG27 and the thread is called Concerned about Hope. She said she saw a Facebook post and surmised that Hope justwants some time off BCO to forget about bc for awhile.

    Ladies,

I have Hope on facebook, two weeks agoshe was going to a game with her family and last week she posted best pictures of her. I sent her a message , i got no reply and she always replies. I believe she is taking some time off from BCO and spending time with her family. I hope we soon can hear from her personally and know she is ok.

I am so sorry if I've worried anyone. I needed some time away to collect myself. I did not go back on Xtandi as my doctors were worried about the side effect profile. It wasn't an easy drug, for sure. The consensus was that Xtandi did work to stabilize my bone mets, however, I had progression in other areas. Since I've been off Xtandi, my tumor markers are increasing fast, I have some lymph nodes that are getting quite large, and a few areas on my neck and skull that are getting much bigger. The pain is definitely increasing in my extensive bone mets along with numbness in my hands, but most worrisome is my blood counts are falling drastically and requiring transfusions and Procrit to maintain. Earlier this week my labs showed that ANC and platelets are in the danger zone too. It seems that this sneaky ILC has decided my marrow is a great place to hang out and take over. The only thing left to do is to try and break up the party with some combo chemo. ILC doesn't tend to respond as well to chemo, so it may or may not work.

I have been given a choice to make, chemo or hospice. I am taking this time over the holidays to make this choice. Many of you know, I'm not a fan of chemo for me, specifically because I have ILC. I don't want to have my last months filled with doctor appointments, IVs, needles, and chaos. It's a tough choice. Without the chemo, time is very limited, for sure. With the chemo, it may still be limited, or it may give me a little extra time. Anyway, I guess this is why I've stayed away from BCO. I know everyone wants to help, but this is such a personal decision I need to make. I started out on this treatment break with the thought that I wanted some quality time with my family. As it turns out, my instincts may have been right on. I have tried to be 'in the moment' with my family and spend as much one on one time as I could with each of them. I've mended some issues that had been barriers and I feel as close as I ever have to each of them. Staying away from BCO and researching treatments and all the other things we spend our time on had to take a back seat during this time. So, I truly am sorry if I worried you. This forum and many of you have been so important in getting me through some very hard times.
