Any larger women wear coobie bras after mastectomy ?

Options

I'm looking at different options, especially while healing. Are the pockets in the coobies big enough for a prosthetic? I think I'll wear a 40 c

I'll try looking through the old posts for suggestions too. Thanks.

Coobie bras are not sized, they are one size fits all, so they may not work for you, as they seem a bit tight to me - I am normally a 34/36 band. Genie bras can hold a moderate prosthetic in the pocket and are sized (XS-4X) so for a stretchy bra option there is more choice. Hope that is helpful info! Good luck

    Hi:

As Special K said, the Genie's appear to be well-liked and work for larger ladies. I have a one-size fits all Coobie Scoopneck, but I agree it would not work for anyone larger than 36. I actually wear it for sports, with no form (just two pads). However, Coobie has recently added a line of "full sizes" which should fit, although I don't know how big the pockets are. Some of the full size bras are one-size, and some come in S M L etc. Here is the page for their new full-size line:

It looks like they have a plus size now that goes to a 42DD. I'm not sure about the support, but prosthetics may be lighter than breasts.

Coobie makes several different styles and a few of them are sized, so they offer more than a one size option. I used them for a while with implants, so have no experience with prosthetics. Call them and ask

Glad to know that Coobie now has some sizes!  I actually bought the first one in a mastectomy and prosthetic store, so they can definitely be used that way.  The fabric is relatively tightly knit and the sides come up fairly high under the arm, which is good for use with prostheses.  I have a 650cc implant on the right - which is a DD cup on me, and nothing on the left and can fit a prosthetic large enough to balance in the Coobie bra I wear, but I do use a lighter weight version when I use that bra.  The opening is barely large enough for me to stuff the prosthetic in when using that type.  I think you could definitely fit a Knitted Knocker type of prosthetic in the cup of a Coobie.

I just got a Coobie Full and I like it. I can easily wear foam forms and the only thing I have learned is a Coobie should only be worn every other day so the elastic can reshape. If you wear the same one every day, like I did :-/ it will begin to roll under where my breasts should be. So if you like it, buy 2.

However it did not work with my silicons size 5. They went south in about 2 hours. Anyone else?

I am about 38 inches and wear a size 5 form when I wear one. I am concave so the little cups hat came with it collapsed into me.

Marie, I forgot to answer your question, I was a 38 C but changed to a B because it is easier to wear the size 5's. The 7's were just too heavy for my shoulders.
