Not enough tissue gathered during biopsy. Is this normal?

Hello friends, I have been waiting anxiously to hear the results from my core needle biopsy last friday. I just got a call from my Dr. that they think it's a Fibroadenoma but they didn't get a large enough sample so I have to go back in again. Is this normal? Should I be alarmed? When I was getting the biopsy I hear the radiologist say, "I got a good one". I am making an appt with a breast surgeon for the next biopsy but feel like my life (with my hubby and three small beautiful babies) has been put on hold again. I just want to get an answer and have a direction to move in. Any insight is appreciated! THanks so much.

Good luck hon. Try to remember most breast lumps are benign. They might want to do an excisional biopsy to get a definitive diagnosis but from what you said it sounds benign....

Hi! Just an update. They found the lump to be benign. So relieved. Going to have it removed as they cannot tell if it is a fibroadenoma or a Phyllodes tumor. So thankful for these discussion boards and all of the wonderful ladies on here. XOXOXO!
