excess skin left from MX & LE
I know my memory is not what it used to be. But I think, there was someone who mentioned that they were left with excess skin after their MX,, and they had truncal LE,,, and then when the excess skin was removed, her LE got better.
Did I imagine this? Is there someone out there that this happened to? Please reply or PM me!
Thanks mucho!

I'd love to hear more about this too! My surgeon left extra skin, and I would like to have it removed and a scar revision at some point, but with the LE, I'm not sure it's the best idea. (I also have truncal LE.)

I tried to look for this - no success... Ariom had surgery that resolved pain in her dog-ears (and improved her look). Wish that I could remember. Thanks for posting.

Daisy: thanks for looking! I remember that Ariom had her dogear removed and it had caused pain,, but she didn't have LE. I swear I remember someone saying that theirs got better after having the dog ear removed.
I'm on the fence about getting it removed. I really would like it,, but I'm afraid of making the LE worse.

I can totally relate -- my PT (love her) says not to go there... But I want it smooth... I think that you are correct - someone did post about success. Wish my memory was better. If we keep posting, maybe they will see the thread?

Some people receive relief from LE when they get surgerys. I think they say that their scar tissue gets removed and so fluid doesnt get hung up.but can move. The lymphatic system is still damaged and my knowledgeable LE therapist says eventually the fluid will build up again down the road. Anyone experience it otherwise let us know.
Wish there was a quick fix to all of this.

Funny how I was questioning a cortisone shot but have no hesitation about having fat grafting and revision/nipple surgery. SMH

Daisy: I'd like to be flat and smooth too. I just don't want to make the LE worse, which is manageable right now. So I'll keep checking to see if anyone has had the experience of improvement after dog ear removal.

But she still comes here occasionally. You might PM her and see what her experience was.

Was discussing this issue with my LE therapist yesterday,, so thought I'd bump it again and see if anyone has any experience.
