Husband and I are looking forward to pork osso buocco, homemade bread and spaghetti with sauce.
I always enjoy coffee with dinner!
-
Teka- I LOVE that dish. When I went to the wedding in upstate NY last month, we had that dish at our hotel the first night, and it was incredibly good. I am trying to learn how to make pork oso buocco now, and want to make it for the family for Xmas.
I hope it was as good as your taste buds were looking forward to!
-
I enjoy my own company too.
I live out of town and even before my diagnosis I usually only went out 1 day a week.
Volunteering for a local charity one morning a week, then shopping in the afternoon.
Hubby is not a social butterfly either. Works for us.
-
Smurfette- welcome to our thread!
-
Thanks so much Jazzygirl
-
Fall trees in my yard doing there thing. Top one is the ash tree and bottom is the chinese pistache tree.
-
Gorgeous colours Jazzygirl. We are 2 weeks out from Summer here in Aus.
-
Smuf- ah, summer down under! What part of Australia do you live in, if you want to share? I have yet to get there, but do want to pay a visit to your beautiful country some day!
-
Jazzygirl I live approx 30klms outside a small town in North West New South Wales.
Population 7,500.
It's an agricultural region. Wheat, Cotton, Chick Peas
Haven't always lived here. Just 6 years this time and less than a year in the 1980's. Hubby's job took us around the state.
The climate is very hot. In fact heatwave conditions are forecast for later in the week.
Supposed to be 41 deg C on Thurs, that's 105.8 F and hotter on Friday with temps reaching 43 C (109.4 F)
It's not even summer yet. February is our hottest month.
-
Smurfette26, welcome to the thread.
*Hermits*
Jazzy, lovely foliage.
There was no pork osso buocco.
Husband had veal and peppers cacciatora, side dish of spaghetti with sauce and homemade bread. I had spaghetti with meat sauce and homemade bread. Excellent coffee!!
-
suersis,
-
Smuf- you have weather like Phoenix AZ and Palm Springs, CA from the sounds of it. I know a lot of Australia is hot!
Teka- too bad about them not having the pork dish.
New Mexico got lots of snow yesterday!
-
I love the fresh snow before becoming dirty!
-
Here in the desert, the snow does not last long in the valley. It evaporates. We never get the piled snow on the side of the road like back east. The mountain roads do though, they are the ones that need the plows.
Mountains in town got 11 inches! We need moisture always. Going to be a snowy one this year. Excited to snow shoe!
-
I used to go snowshoeing during teen years!
-
Teka- I had to give up downhill skiing in my 40s as my knees were "talking to me." Andrew Weill who is the holistic doc says when your body tells you a sport is hurting, find another one. So I started snow shoeing. I also cross country ski too!

Feeling proud to be english tonight as we stood tall in the face of terrorists with dignity and grace......we had lots of experience with the IRA in the past......

After the storm

Haunted by that beautiful dog blown to pieces today by the female terrorist in Paris, may she suffer without limit forever. She chose to blow herself up, that dog (a female) was helping to keep humans safe .............................it probably seems miles away for you all over there but its all too close here especially as ISIS have vowed to re-capture Andalucia in Spain.........and boats arrive on the shores daily.........
-
Lilly- we are all very worried here in the US. We know how bad things are in France and all over Europe. They are worried about attacks in NYC.
I have a cousin who lives in Paris with her husband and they were okay as of last Friday evening, but believe they have left the country. They go somewhere else for the winter.
Hugs to everyone around the world. This is happening to all of us.
-
what I mean is they have Andalusia on their map of countries / zones they will take for their caliphate, not just an attack, and boats arrive almost dail

*Good Afternoon Hermits*
Husband and I with Son, Daughter and Boyfriend had an early Thanksgiving turkey dinner on November 21st.
We're still grazing on delicious leftovers!!
___________________________________________________________________________________
Husband and I with Son may have Italian cuisine on Thanksgiving day.
-
Teka- that all sounds very yummy! I like that you do it early! And always fun to do something non traditional for Thanksgiving.
Back in 1988, I was on a trip to Venezuela with some friends over Thanksgiving week. We ended up having dinner at a wonderful vegetarian restaurant. Memorable to this day!
-
Jazzy, 27 years ago, must have been nice to enjoy the company of friends without having to prep the Thanksgiving dinner!
-
Teka- having a holiday in another country is a very cool experience. I always wanted to do Xmas somewhere like Europe, South America, etc. It could still happen. That being said, I am very happy to be home this holiday weekend given all the terror alerts, etc. I am watching right now on the evening news. Hoping everyone here who may be traveling is safe along their journey.
Turkey was procured today and in the fridge.
-
Teka- for you!
