It doesn't seem real does it? You know it can happen to you but you never think it will. I was just diagnosed about 5 weeks ago but it seems like 6 months ago. I have found a lot of very good information on this site and in the discussion boards. There is one thing for certain...we are definitely not alone in this journey. Hugs to you.

I'm so sorry. It's hard at any age but you are about my daughters age. :-(
I was just diagnosed in the second breast in 5 months! I know what you mean about being numb. "Cancer" and our name in the same sentence just does not seem real.

I am sorry that you have joined the club that no one wants to be in.
Everyone reacts in their own way. I was also on the calm side. I was diagnosed the Friday before Labor Day, so waiting over the holiday weekend for more appointments was hard.
Do you have a referral to a breast surgeon?
Just try to keep busy over the next few days. I bought a puzzle to try and keep my mind off everything as much as possible. It helped.

I don't have anything yet. My doctor called me at 540 tonight. I'm off to get a second opinion hopefully next week. No referrals yet. They said to call office on Monday

I was diagnosed just last week on Thursday, November 5, 2015. (I am 41.)
I was 100% numb as well.
My mother had been diagnosed when she was 42, so I always knew breast cancer could be a possibility one day down the road.....but to be honest....that's ALL it was, a possibility, NOT something that could actually happen.
And then it did and I was STUNNED. Just stunned and numb.
Over the weekend, was when the fear snuck in. Crazy, wild, scary thoughts bombarded my mind until I really thought I was going to die within weeks or months from this cancer. That weekend, by far, was the worst one of my life. (And like you, I had NO info other than the type of cancer that I had. My doctor was not able to tell me anything and I had to wait until Monday, to meet with a surgical oncologist.)
I will tell you that once you meet with your surgical oncologist or breast surgeon....you WILL feel better, I promise. (The girls here tried to tell me that and I didn't believe them. LOL! But, they were right!) You will receive info on your particular cancer and discuss treatment options/plans. That will help....A LOT. Truly.
In the meantime, please know that you are NOT alone and that you CAN do this. The boards here are amazing, full of fantastic women and you will receive SO much love and support here!
(((((Hugs))))) and prayers to you sweetie!
(If you ever need or want someone to talk to, please PM me! I would love to be friends with you down this journey!) -
HI there I just wanted to write and tell you that I was young, too. Just a couple of years older than you are. It sure does suck but you can get through it. My diagnosis is two years back and I feel really good again. We have your back!

I freaked out only when I first got the report in my inbox the morning after my screening mammo which mentioned the “focal asymmetry.” I was a bit nervous when the followup spot compression mammo and ultrasound came back BIRADS 4; but oddly enough, since it was 2 wks between that and my biopsy (I was told it was ok to take the trip I’d planned), I had prepared myself and surprisingly didn’t panic when I got my diagnosis. Instead, I went into warrior mode and made an absolute pest of myself insisting on getting the appointments I wanted when I wanted them. Was more nervous waiting for the OncotypeDX result, which turned out low (16).
You will get through this. Stage 1-2 (did you mean stage 1, grade 2?), ER+/PR+/HER2- is on the less aggressive side. Take your cue from “Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy:” DON’T PANIC! We’re all here for you.
