Herceptin done for today, five more to go, last one is February 24. Oh, and I get to have one on Christmas Eve, joy. They said I could delay, but I'd rather stay on track

Yep. And heading out for a bike ride shortly, yeah I'm hard core. And riding Saturday and Sunday and Monday too.

Just read some stuff saying Herceptin can cause brittle nails and some joint pain, so maybe that accounts for me waking up a little creaky in the morning. Never lost nails, and they were always crappy, but seem thinner now. Not that I care, never have gone much for nail polish, etc. too much of a pain. I just keep them short and don't really care

I don't think the medical people understand how badly you want to be DONE.

    Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Thankful today...post op day 2 and doing well, not much pain just a little sore. Took a little walk outside this morning.

Allison...this is the last thing for me. I'm hoping to recover quickly and trying to move forward finally.

Question for you ladies with lovely long locks... lol

When did your hair really start forming a semblance of a real live hair cut? I am 10 weeks PFC and my hubs calls me Neo(from the Matrix)lol It's there and dark... really dark.... but I wanna ditch this wig by Christmas without looking like I joined the army. Do you think that is possible? I just keep waiting for some crazy hair growth and I guess it's not happening! Why can't my head hair grow like my eyebrows which I had to WAX because they were so out of control!!!!

you have to show a pic. I went commando with really short hair, trimmed it, dyed it and spiked it. Everybody who didn't know thought I did it for my bike riding. So show us as pic if you have one and we can all weigh in

My hair is pretty much as long as I ever wear it, so all I can say is that 1.5-2 inches can definitely be styled.

I will have to take a pic when I get home! Theresa.... I would ABSOLUTELY ditch the wig if my hair was your length. That looks like you just have a short hair do! Mine is not near that unfortunately. It's all filled in... just not very long or thick. I slick it down with gel...and it looks longer... LOL but Still looks like G.I. Jane.... lol

I smooth coconut oil into mine and blow dry it, takes about 1 minute. But man, do I have wicked bed head in the morning.

Ksusan, every time you post, I always wish my cheeks were as rosy as yours are!

Leigh, remember I quit doing do rags mid August. I will see if I can find a picture from then. It was pretty short, at the time all I could do was spike it up.

    image

One week after this picture I quit wearing anything.

    image

That's what it looked like when I spiked it at Halloween. Somebody told me I should wear it that way. Yeah um, no

E just adorable! Shocks me that you have girls in college, you must be mistaken for their sorority sister.

I'm also at about 1 1/2-2 inches of hair. I spike it up to give it more height but the back and sides are short. I didn't want to clip it either but it needed shaping. Once my hair is back to shoulder length I'm not sure I'll ever want to cut it.

Happy Monday to all☀️It's a beautiful day in PA due to reach 65, I'm getting out to enjoy the day with the dogs, finally feeling pretty good

    Hello All,

We are interested in hearing your experiences on issues related to your diagnosis and/or treatment, such as sexual matters, weight gain/loss, chemo brain/chemo fog, bone and heart health, exercise and nutrition issues, menopausal concerns, lymphedema, infertility, neuropathy, joint pain, skin/hair changes, relationship changes, work and career hurdles, and emotional issues including fear of recurrence. Please don't feel that you need to address each of these issues. We are listing these as suggestions. Your stories will complement a new, upcoming section on the main Breastcancer.org site on Survivorship issues.

Some things to think about for your story: Have you gained a new perspective on this other side of treatment? What life lessons have you learned? What advice would you give your newly-diagnosed self or other person just starting the journey? How does your "old" self compare to your "new" self? Is there a difference? What impact has your breast cancer diagnosis made on your life? If you've become a Breast Cancer Advocate, what is your mission and how are you fulfilling it?

If you're willing to share your perspective of your life after diagnosis and treatment, we'd love to hear from you! Please send your story via PM to the Mods along with a picture of yourself or something that represents you, and a note about how long since you've been diagnosed. Seeing these stories will surely inspire our new members, along with members just going through treatment now, to see that you CAN get through treatment and get to a new normal on the other side.

Your story will be included with the other Members Stories photos on the main site (http://www.breastcancer.org/community/acknowledgin...), in our December Newsletter and may also be used in part throughout the website and/or in fundraising or event materials.

    Thank you for considering!

Loving all the hair pics! You all look great!

Post op day 5, physically doing well except very tired. Can't wait for this drain to be out, on Wed. All this resting and lack of excercise has me down the rabbit hole again. Crawling my way out slowly...got back on the treadmill for a super slow walk today...then got the call from my BS, pathology from my prophy mx and oophorectomy was all clear!!! So relieved!

    PB
