Here are the WWW ladies on a Veterans Day walk.
-
Great picture, Ruth!
Got to the Y early and did 60 minutes. I'm pretty slow by the end of that. I think I'm going to ask family for cash instead of gifts this Christmas and save up for a Fitbit.
-
There is a new tracker coming called 'Leaf' it's pretty brooch in the shape of a leaf and it has a 6 month battery, that being said Fitbit have customer service down to an art form, a friend had the little button come off her HR and they replaced it. Cubbie you could also ask for gift cards for Target or Walmart or Dicks put them all together and get yourself one. Outrunning your girl is gorgeous and she's following your example. Scottie my work is the exact opposite, we have nothing going on right now but jobs lined and they are all going to hit at once, you know the week of Thanksgiving and of course every one of them think they are the only client I have and yes I don't mind working over the holiday, nothing would give me more pleasure NOT.
Did a Spin class tonight and now doing laundry as I need to pack for my Seattle trip. -
Outrunning, super photo - what a sweetie and I think your 10k time is excellent - well done you. Good luck on your deadline and 4 more to go, terrific. JerseyGirl, good on ya, and Angiel, I'd like an Apple watch too. Kindergarten, enjoy Denver and Cheryl, visiting friends - work in Seattle?
Pink pilates this morning with my lovely, local tribe.
-
Congrats, Jersey!! Doc - 10-20 minutes a few times a week while dealing with AI fatigue is fabulous! I got hit with fatigue as well, but found if I kept at it, I was able to do a little more as the months went by. Outrunning - I love your little "Shark Sprinter" - she looks so proud with her shirt and medal! Uh oh, Karen - first Ruth and now you with the snow! I guess it's coming for the rest of us soon - well maybe except for the California and Florida gals! Ruth - perfect picture for yesterday!
I've had a Nike Fuelband for 2+ years and love its accountability. DH used to laugh at me as I'd march around the room trying to get those last few hundred steps. Then a few months ago our work started a wellness program, which included a free VirginPulse step/activity monitor. DH and I both joined, and now he's the one marching around the house trying to get those last steps in!
Took advantage of the day off yesterday for a nice hour run in the park. Found a rather magnificent buddy along the trail:
-
haha I guess we're 'health tracker' junkies LB heading to Seattle for a LM Super Quarterly another all day Saturday exercise event I have signed up for Pump, Step, Vive, Sh'bam, Flow, Jam, Combat and Sprint probably will only do half Pump and Step and I've found by the time Combat comes I'm wiped out so I'll see on that one and Sprint is brand new here and only 30 minutes and the gym where it's being held has Sh'bam and Jam on Friday so I plan on getting a pass and doing those. Wow Mary he's gorgeous so regal, I love the look on his face.
-
HaHa, Nats, you're correct, no snow here. We took my brother to the beach today. We're not nearby, a 2-hour drive but was a nice Gulf of Mexico beach.
Mysunshine48, no classes just running around seeing "stuff". His shoulder and forearm are giving him intense pain. His PCP could not find anything on MRI but I suspect a pinched nerve. He will have to get further tests. So no classes for him (though we may do line dancing) but we are doing lots of other fun things and he is having a ball.
Ran for about an hour in the ocean today (forgot my fitbit at home).
-
Cardio Sculpt this morning.
Looks like you are showing your brother a great time, patoo.
Have fun in Seattle, Cheryl.
What a cute daughter, Outrunning & I can see by the medal that she is a chip off the old block!
Yes, start droping some 'Get me a Fitbit for Christmas' hints if you need one. I said that I wanted one for my birthday last year and it has been great.
Your deer picture could be made into a calendar page or a puzzle with a Fall Theme, Mary.
Odie, the concert was 'Rick Springfield Unplugged', so it was just him and a bunch of guitars on the stage & he talked about his history (with pictures flashing on a screen & told the stories behind the songs (as well as singing them) & reflected on life as well. So it was pretty cool & he is still extremely sexy IMO!
-
hbcheryl, that is a lot of exercise - I've seen the LM classes at the Y, can't imagine doing a whole day of them. It must be like those charity Zumba marathons I did a couple of years ago.
Speaking of LM classes, I went to the Y early and had to give up after 15 minutes. There were so many people all over the track, and not all of them follow track etiquette. We had people walking slow in the middle of the track instead of keeping to the inside lane, and this crazy teenager who would run a one lap sprint, then he would stop and flex in front of his reflection in one of the windows, and then after a while take off and do it all over again. After he nearly ran me down, I gave up.
-
Cubbie - I'd certainly say something to the management at the Y about the track issue. I'm sure that other users feel the same way, but you're the perfect one to bring it up. You have more power than you know because you can swipe the Cancer Card! Put on big sad eyes, and tell them "I'm recovering from breast cancer surgery, and my surgeon and oncologist really want me to walk, but I'm finding it difficult to use the track because some of our members seem to have forgotten about track etiquette. If it's not too much trouble, could you possibly put out some kind of reminder to our members so that I can use the track safely?" How are they going to say no? You can't be mean to a cancer patient!
Ruth - your concert sounds wonderful. Cheryl - I'm exhausted just reading about your upcoming schedule!
Pilates DVD this morning.
-
Hello everyone! Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes! I had my surgery two days ago and all went well. It's now timeto recover, but I am feeling great.
I have enjoyed reading about all your outings and exercise.
-
Annie, good to read you checking in and pleased all went well. Cheryl, enjoy your LM weekend!
Freestyle step at the gym this morning.
-
Ruth, the concert sounds perfect. Some times the simpler is better. I used to love to go see George Strait as he just sings at his concerts. No theatrics etc. Love George!
Went to bootcamp last night and did 30 minutes on the Elliptical tonight after work.
Just sick over the events in Paris today. Praying for Paris.....
-
Hee, hee, Nats, you have a point. Especially with my non-reconstructed flat chest. I might actually have had more pull just because I'm a regular there, and the people at the front desk know me. What I was really tempted to do was run after the kid and show him that anyone can run that fast for one lap, even the cancer patient!
No exercise tonight, I had allergy testing today and for some reason, the aftercare instructions say do not exercise the same day.
-
Outrunning: Your daughter is adorable!
Cheryl: Have fun in Seattle. Sounds exhausting but so much like you!
Great pictures Ruth and Nats!
Annie: On to recovery. Congratulations!
I went to bed a few nights ago with a sore throat and woke up sick the next morning with the "head thing." Went to the doctor this morning and now on an antibiotic and steriods. No exercise for me, just rest. Feeling a little better tonight.
Prayers for Paris.
-
Cubbie I concur, management can't fix what they don't know about. Feel better Wonderland. Annie glad you feel good.
Went to Sh'bam and Body Jam today at the gym where the function is tomorrow, it is raining cats and dogs here and I keep getting 'flood' alerts on my phone but I don't have a clue where I am so I don't know if I should be worried or not and I have 21,327 steps on my Fitbit for the day
-
Busy every minute of the whole day. Finally got on the treadmill for half an hour at 10:30 pm. Now I am up late watching CNN about Paris. What a sad, sick world it is sometimes.
-
Morning, Friends. It has been a sad week for me with two co-workers dying of yes, cancer. Walking is my therapy. I walked Wednesday and Thursday for 30 minutes each. Was feeling good again by yesterday and then I heard the news of Paris last night. I will have to do a lot of walking again. Prayers for Paris.
-
I was so happy yesterday when I finally went over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit. I am becoming addicted to it....even wearing it on my pajamas to get the steps going to the bathroom in the night. Now that's bad!
Praying for the people of Paris. How sad.
-
wednesday night I walked to choir rehearsal, about 2 miles. Thursday I did week 2 day 2 of C25K at the gym after work. Yesterday was crazy busy at work and I was dead tired all evening so no work out except a grocery run. Today was week 2 day 3 of C25K on a gorgeous crisp fall morning followed by about 3 hours of yard work and other outside late fall winter prep. DS is home for the weekend for opening day of deer hunting with DH so enjoying having him here. Life is good.
-
Qualification to my last sentence. Life is good..,.......except for stupid suicide bombers and all the other sad stupid shit in the world today. Love y'all.
-
Yes, mysunshine48, wearing it to bed for sleepy footsteps is pushing it! (but may try it myself since I get up about 3x/night for bathroom).
We rented a golf cart today to give brother rides around. Fun, especially trying to figure out how to get across roadways without actually going on the roadway. They have built tunnels to get from one side to the other depending on which Village or Rec Center you are heading toward but sometimes we unschooled drivers end up on the roadway and don't know how to get back off. People are really nice though, stopping their car or golf cart to show us what we did wrong and how to get back on track.
Played about 30 mins of pickleball (modified tennis court) and then went for 5 mile bike ride (sister and brother wore out after pickleball so rode out alone). Now I'm pooped and should sleep extra well tonight.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Did a 36 minute walk/run around the lake. It did wonders for the stress and sadness.
-
11/14- took a nice evening walk tonight for 30 minutes and enjoyed the end of the day light coming through the trees and late fall colors. Nature comforts during difficult times when many things cannot.
I am very saddened by what happened in Paris yesterday. I have some family there, and they are okay but totally freaked out. I hope if there are any sisters here from France or who have friends and family there, that everyone you love is okay. Peace to all here today.
-
Patoo, I played tennis up until last January, when I broke my leg! However, I would love to try Pickleball! I am not sure my arm is up to serving yet for tennis.
How fun to rent a golf cart! I can Imagine I would be all over the place too! Maybe we will have to do that for a day when my sister and her husband are there in January.
-
Sweet- how is it going with the CPAP? Keep up the good work with the C25K.
I have not been on these boards for a couple of weeks due to caring for my MIL after her brain surgery. It has been really rough.
I am happy to report that I was able to run my 5k race last Sunday. Despite my lack of being able to train due to my broken toe and respiratory illness in October, I did it!
Glad to see everyone is still going strong!
-
Good job, Ginger!
I dId an hour of abs & lower body toning & sneaked it a quick walk before I went over to DS's for another painting spree......I am remembering why I haven't remodeled, painted, or even moved the furniture for a long time. WORK!!
-
Wow, since my last chemo was only the H & P, energy is returning everyday! This is amazing, after feeling so crappy for 4 months! Yesterday we walk a new outlet "mall" area in our county, then went to the boardwalk and walked and walked, and it was wonderful! Trying to get my energy back before surgery. I'll have one Herceptin IV the week before surgery, but I'm thinking that won't make me feel bad, if it didn't with the H & P... anyone else do Herceptin only for a year? How was the impact on daily life, if there was much of an impact as far as tiredness, etc.. Gosh, I feel so good right now I just want to run all over! I know I still need to dial it down and not overdo so as not to get sick before surgery... but to know that life returns is a great feeling!
-
Way to go Ginger! Jazz. . .prayers for your family, so glad they are safe!
I've had a rough weekend, mostly because I haven't slept through the night, but I am putting in extra steps. Hiked with dd at local state park so that I could photograph her. Shhhh don't tell her boyfriend but here is the collage I made from her photo shoot. It's a Christmas present for bf. I plan to have it printed on canvas after I finish retouches.
Scottie
-
Ginger I'm glad you were able to do your race.
Scottie lovely pictures. you will enjoy having those for yourself too!
Jersey glad you are feeling good and hope it continues. No experience with herceptin myself.
Jazzy so glad your family is safe. It's just senseless
I walked 55 minutes around the lake today. I'm sore from yesterday's run/walk so I decided to stroll a bit and take in the beautiful day and scenes. We have 65 degrees and sunny and I know that won't last much longer.
