Tomorrow is the day
Hi...been waiting a week and tomorrow is my US guided core needle biopsy to assess 2 masses and lymph nodes all rated a birads 5. Also have a stereotactic biopsy to other breast to area of calcification rated a birads 4. It's been a long week but have finally found a bit of peace about it. It is what it is. And if they are right, then I will just do everything needed to remove it. Doesn't mean I'm not scared, I'm terrified. Didn't want this at 41. Didn't want this for my kids. I was returning to Grad school in January. I guess just delays things.....but I'm really hoping they are wrong. Please send good wishes my way....:and if you pray, please pray for me.

Hi Jenisu, Feeling moved by your post. From what you are saying it sounds like they have already indicated they suspect it is cancer, or perhaps just the Birads scores do this? This is very hard time to wait, even more so with suspicious indicators. Wishing all the best for you and a smooth, pain-free day and good news. And what ever the news, I hope you can keep your spirits up and let the love of your family wrap you up in a big embrace. Saying a prayer for you my friend.
I have a core needle biopsy in a week, but I don't know anything about Birads scores. Did the radiologist just offer that up? They suspect mine is a fibroadenoma, so it was a quick meeting and I didn't know enough to ask that.
Hang in there, Pam

Hugs Jenisu. This is the hardest time. There is a lot of waiting.
Whatever your results you will rise and meet the challenges and if need be; the community here will embrace and support you.
Thinking of you. Donna.

Hi Pam. US and mammography findings are rated on a score from 0-6. Zero being nothing and 6 being confirmed malignant by a biopsy result. 5 is > 95% is malignant. I'm a RN so I knew how to read the report. I will be praying all is well for you too. I appreciate the support:-
-
Hi Smurfette:-). You are right, I will rise to the challenge! Thanks for your support. It really means a lot
-
Sorry to hear that, must have been like a punch in the gut to read, and a hard week waiting. Hope all the best for you!
-
Jen,
I'm praying for you sweetheart!
I just had my core needle biopsy yesterday, (BIRADS 4b), and am currently waiting, waiting, waiting, for the results.
The waiting is the hard part. Our minds go to some pretty dark and scary places. (((Hugs)))
Hang in there!!! Lots of prayers for a great result are headed your way! -
How are you doing Jenisu? Just checking on you and to see if you had an update. HOpe all is well.
-
It came back malignant as expected. Invasive ductal carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ. I'm still trying to process
-
Jenisu,
I'm so sorry that you've joined "the club no one wants to join." Take your time processing it.
But make plans for how you will organize the mass of information you'll have heading your way. You can start by getting copies of your pathology reports, if you don't already have them.
And do come back and talk w/ us. You may want to start a new thread on the IDC board?
Again, I'm so sorry to hear your news.
