Walked the track at the Y for 35 minutes today. Didn't go too fast, but definitely made two miles, from counting laps.

What grade, Ruth? They have changed math so much with the common core, kids ask me for help, and I have no idea what we are supposed to do with all these grids and such. At least with the teens I can talk about how I would solve the problem, and not worry too much about doing it according to the system.

Thanks for asking Cheryl - Mikey is doing fine. (For our newbies here, Mikey's our extremely peppy, vocal Min Pin that some of the Sculpted Sisters here got to to meet a few years ago.) He's a hardy little thing. When he was dx with the nasty heart murmur in 2014, the vet cardiologist took one look at his test results and thought he'd be gone in a few months. But he's responded remarkably well to his meds, and at the last visit the cardiologist said some of his function had actually improved a bit. So we'll just take it as it comes. And of course he has no idea he's supposed to be slowing down - he's still a very silly sweet highly-energetic little dog.

Did some much needed stretching and foam roller work this morning. We have tomorrow off so plan on getting in a nice mid-week run.

RANG! THAT! BELL! Chemo is done! They only did the targeted H & P, so I'm feeling like taking a nap, but feeling good!!!!! Feels good to know that this part of the journey is behind me! Looking forward to walking and feeling better before surgery. I'll still have the IV Herceptin every 3 weeks and surgery/recon, but this past week has been a beautiful thing to feel almost normal again.

    Warrior on, women!

    YAY! JerseyGirl22.

Brother arrived and we walked around lake for a little after lunch. Now he's taking a nap (was on way to airport at 4am) then will walk him some more and stop for awhile in the square. Think we scared him with all the activities we are going to try and fit into one week!

    Congratulations, Jersey!

Your brother is probably just hiding, patoo, after hearing of all your activities!

Cubbie, I taught 6th & 7th grade 'Intensive Math' (which means it's for kids who struggle, which means I actually understood the 6th grade assignment & could help them.......sadly, even 'intensive' 7th grade math is beyond my understanding, luckily there was a really good aide in those hours, so I could defer the hard questions to her!). Did some time on the treadmill when I got home & am off to Barre in a couple minutes.

i think that is exercise your doing something, i cannot get over the hump with the exercise, the lack of sleep and long work hours do me in. im trying Denise Austin 10 wk plan and she is awesome but i can only do 10 or 20 mins a few mornings a week. the aromasin kicks my butt with the SE. sorry to complain

doc241, first, it's okay to complain as it's healthier than keeping it in and we are here for you. Second, doing Denise 10 or 20 mins a few times a week is awesome! Any amount of exercise is good and a lot more than many people do, so don't beat up yourself. This is a tough journey. Do what you can and you may find you can do a little more each time (and even if you don't, it's okay!)

    JerseyGirl:

Doc: Welcome and glad you signed on!

Nats: So glad to know that Mikey is doing well. Please pat him on the head for me.

Finally had blue skies this afternoon. I sat outside and soaked up the sun. Later I walked/ran in delightfully cool air.

doc241, I think you are doing great if you work and do anything a few days a week after work!

However, I would tell you that a couple months ago, I got a Fitbit. Mine is a clipon called a Zip. $59.95 at Target, and I hear less on Amazon. I love it. It tracks your daily steps. it is so much fun to challenge myself to do more steps every day, or at least do as many as i can. The recommended daily steps is at least 10,000 steps. I rarely get there, but I try. I bet if you had one and you put it on when you get up and wear it until bedtime, you would be surprised how many steps you actually take during the day.....even at work. It all counts. Just an idea and it is fun! Exercise is moving!

Welcome, doc! I love Denise Austin too. Remember that those 10-20 minutes are 100% more exercise than anybody who is just sitting on the couch is getting! I love my Fitbit....it makes me WANT to try to get more steps!

Did 50 minutes of walking tonight. I need one of those fitbits so I can tell how far that is without counting laps. I forget to keep counting - apparently my attention span isn't that long.

I love my fitbit. i got the Flex on sale this summer. Before my fitbit I used a pedometer for 3 or 4 years. I keep upping my steps goal...Now I strive for 15K/day. I feel so much better when I walk. It has been harder getting up in the morning in the cold and dark, but I feel better with even a 20 minute walk before work. I also try to walk mid day at work and then in the evenings with my husband. If I don't walk, then I'm just a lazy couch potato...too much time on the computer!! I really need to add some other type of exercise, but I'm too lazy!!! Walking is therapeutic for me....especially outside.

I love my fitbit so much have bought a plastic waterproof pouch so I can take it into the pool with e since I'm walking/running when doing aerobics.

Took my sister and brother to watch the dragonboaters. We will probably train with them sometime in the next few months. Then took my brother to look at houses hoping to get him interested in moving down but he would need an act of God to convince his wife to even come down and look. Spent an hour in the pool this afternoon and now relaxing.

    Night sculpted friends.

Congrats JerseyGirl! That's such a wonderful and emotional feeling!

Patoo - have a wonderful time with your brother! Sibling time is the best!

I replaced my fitbit with the apple watch. I love it except for the fact that it doesn't count steps when I use the stair master, bike & sometimes even the elliptical. It also has a daily exercise goal but doesn't count things like rowing or spinning towards that goal even though my heart rate is elevated. I'm guessing that it uses steps combined with heart rate for credit towards the daily exercise goal? Nothing like getting done with a weight training or rowing class only to see you haven't met any minutes towards your goal :(

Orange theory workout today again followed by radiation number 15. Only 18 left!

    Woo-hoo Jerseygirl!

Gym today on top of PT. Yesterday was another 11 hour work day. One more week after this and we get break. Dec. is pretty quiet.

I'm looking a getting the Fitbit Surge. Hoping they drop the price after Thanksgiving. Dd wants my FitbitHR and I want the surge because it tracks other exercise besides just steps and I need cross-training.

Patoo I have a friend who is an avid Dragon Boater. Looks like so much fun!

15 rads down 4 to go. I'm pretty tired and worked until 9 last night ugh.

Thanks to the fact I don't have to be to rads until 10:30 I slept late and did some yoga. About 20-25 minutes from an app and then another 5-10 with my 6 year old daughter leading the poses, MOST of which were real ones she's learned at school.

Here's the happy girl after she finished her 1/8 mile kids race that went along with my bridge run this weekend.

Kathy....Hope you had a wonderful time in Breckenridge. Lucky you, you got to experience spring, fall and winter during your trip!!! My son went up to Copper Mountain for opening day. Too bad we couldn't meet up. Safe travels back home.

Glorious early morning walk (5:45 am) in the snow!!! It was so peaceful and quiet. Wish I had more time, but had to get ready for work!!!

Another vote here for the fitbit! Got me off the couch after Rads. I rarely make 10,000 steps but am often close. I do "challenges " with some friends that keep me on my toes!

Almost made 10,000 steps today! I would have, but there was a meeting in my neighborhood gym tonight. I was going to get on the treadmill, but could not. It was dark by then, so no more outside walking. I am not a fan of these early dark nights.

Patoo, are you getting your sister and brother to some classes?

    Congrats on finishing chemo Jerseygirl.

Lilacblue, happy happy belated birthday! You are such an inspiration! I am sure you did great on the test.

Ruth, bet the Rick Springfield concert was a hoot. What fun!

Patoo, enjoy your time with your brother.

Annie, hope your surgery today went well and you have a smooth recovery.

Been busy over the last few days. Exercise Saturday was walking around a lovely winery to celebrate a friend's birthday. Sunday was housecleaning. Monday was bootcamp and yesterday, I took a rest day. Tonight was a walk/run workout on the treadmill.
