Gardening, anyone?

I could sit forever looking at New England autumn. It is so pretty and you have a blue sky as a backdrop. Trust me, gray is not nearly as nice.

Beautiful, MsDivine! Love seeing all that fall color, and the orange cosmos, bravely hanging on!

To get my flower fix thru these upcoming winter months, I started following a few Fb pages that have flower and garden photos and articles., like American Meadows, and A Gardener's Diary.

Now that I'm not outside doing yard work much, I've turned my attention on updating a few Christmas decorations, redoing bows for my tree and overhauling a couple poinsettia arrangements, and l plan to paint the basement a little at a time over the winter. I have to find something to do to keep me busy so time doesn't drag till springtime flowers rebloom. I'm looking forward to putting mulch down next spring, haven't refreshed it in several years.

I planted about 30 crocuses. I dug up a few flower beds this year, sacrificing some crocuses and I wanted to replace them as their blooms are our first sign of spring.

Hi ladies- spent the afternoon doing some winterizing of the backyard and patio areas. A frost is due to come later this week so I am getting the last of the plants indoors and going to say goodbye to the gardens as they go to sleep for the winter. Still waiting for my trees to completely turn, the ash is well on it's way, the chinese pistache and red oak are starting.

I was up north for a few days last weekend with a friend visiting and wanted to share some foliage shots with you during our time in Taos County!

so beautiful to see and hear the stories of what gardening means to all of us, everywhere. You ladies are always a great inspiration to my day-to-day living and how cool is that

We have had nothing but rain for nearly two weeks. Everything is growing back and will all get frost bite when the rain stops and the cold sets in. I so want to winterize my yard.

Beautiful tree pictures and I love your indoor garden Jazzy! This inspires me to get some more indoor plants.

We've had a few frosts but my pots have not completely died yet. I still have the geraniums, a vinca and a dianthus. Today I saw a day lily blooming. But I know it's over soon.

The hours I spend in the yard would be well spent cleaning and organizing my house but not as much fun! I'm seriously thinking of bonsai or terrariums to keep me occupied over the winter.

Flavia, I started gardening after seeing an awesome indoor garden in Alaska. I figured if she could grow stuff under lights, I should be able to do it outside in a mild climate.

Jackiebird- I can relate. I noticed a few things got frost last night. Many things have not yet, which amazes me. Hard to watch things go. Some are not perennials either so they are bye bye forever.

Now my job is keeping the indoor things going, especially the geraniums. They are loosing leaves/adjusting right now which always happens when they come inside to start. Fingers crossed they make it through the winter!

Jackbirdie, I envy you having blooming things in your yard - here November starts to look pretty bleak, but at least we have had this wonderful warm spell. TwoHobbies, I'll attach a couple of photos of the terrarium. It isn't very big - I had the jar and wasn't using it. I just went around the yard and collected things. I'm also attaching a little dish garden that I made, mostly with moss the I collected.
