edited November 2015 in Breast Reconstruction

I have to have my implants taken out and then new ones put back in.  I had immediate gummy reconstruction at the time of my BMX.  When you look at me, you can see that they don't look right, even in clothes.  The FOOB on the unaffected side has fallen and is more under my arm pit than it should be.  The FOOB on the affected side now sits too high.  After 6 months, my PS did agree that they need to be taken out and new ones put in and some fat grafting.

My question is will insurance pay for this?

Thanks.

It should be if your PS is coding the revision in the right way.  They do this all the time so there shouldn't be confusion, but it might be worth talking to his/her biller about it.  You can always ask your insurance company for a pre-authorization before the surgery to double check coverage.

I had my original exchange surgery on May 1, 2015. As time went by my right implant started rippling and didn't have the same projection. I ended up having my revision surgery on October 23, 2015 (by a different PS) and had my implants exchanged for different ones. Just checked my claims online and the revision was covered by my health insurance.
