Confused.. Need biopsy in both breasts :(

I'm 43 and just had my first ever baseline mammo. It was abnormal in both breasts so I had 3D mammo and Ultrasound. The findings seem very complicated. (Although, I'm trying to think that it all means absolutely nothing until they tell me otherwise.. after I have the biopsies done of both breasts this Friday.) I know the key word here is spiculated and was surely a bit relieved to see this was birad 4 and not 5, but still wont be able to sleep for another week.

R Breast Mammo: 3D of the right breast confirms the presence of a 9mm well-circumscribed mass in the central inner right breast at a distance approx 3 cm from the nipple. There are additional scattered tiny well-circumscribed nodular densities in the inner right breast.

R Breast US: Sonography of the right breast at the 3:00 position confirms the presence of a hypoechoic well-circumscribed lobulated solid mass measuring 8x5x4mm. There is mild internal blood flow. Biopsy is recommended. This is amenable to ultrasound guided core biopsy.

L Breast Mammo: 3D of the Left breast confirms the presence of a 23mm spiculated mass in the anterior lower inner quadrant. There are no suspicious microcalcifications.

L Breast US: Sonography of the lower inner quadrant of the left breast demonstrates ill-defined area of irregular shadowing at the 7:00 position 3cm from the nipple which appears to correspond to the spiculated mass seen mammographically. Biopsy is recommended. There is an adjacent complex cyst or solid mass measuring 4x3x3 mm with no internal blood flow. Clustered cysts are noted at the 7:00 periarieolar region the largest measuring 4x3x4mm.

CONCLUSIONS: Left Breast: Suspicious spiculated mass in the lower inner quadrant. Sonographically there is an adjacent complex cyst or solid mass measuring 4x3x3mm. Biopsy is recommended.

Right Breast: In the right breast at the 3:00 position there is a lobulated solid mass measuring 8x5x4 mm possibly an atypical intramammory lymph node. Biopsy is recommended.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Biopsy suspicious spiculated left breast mass and 8mm right breast mass.

BIRADS 4: Suspicious Abnormality; biopsy should be considered

    The waiting is truly one of the hardest parts. We don' t have much advice on how to get through it, but just know that you're not alone, and that It's not always cancer, which is why doing a biopsy is a good thing.

    You may find helpful reading through the pages of the article What Mammograms Show: Calcifications, Cysts, Fibroadenomas, that reinforces that there are many other benign masses that can come from testing.

    Hi Corrine. Waiting for results is the pits! Try to remember you are fine unless they prove otherwise. Most breast lumps are benign. Although bilateral breast cancer is possible its not probable.Try to stay busy and be positive. Good luck. Keep us posted.....

    I just had the bilateral biopsy and waiting. I can tell you it is not fun. Hope you create a good support system around you to keep you busy. Good luck

    Thanks everyone. The waiting is the worst. My biospies are not scheduled until Friday, so hopefully I will know something in about a week or so. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's so hard. The radiologist had me totally freaked out so I was expecting a Birad 5 and was slightly relieved when the report came back a 4.
