Waiting is so hard!!!
I had my ultrasound assisted core needle biopsy yesterday morning, (BIRADS 4b), and now I'm super anxious.
I wasn't before. I was actually very calm and focused. I had the mindset of "whatever will be, will be" and I'll handle it if/when it comes.
Now, I'm not so calm and focused. Now, I'm terrified that at any moment, the phone call that will change my life forever will come and I'll fall apart. I feel like falling apart now and I don't even know anything yet.
I know that there is nothing you gals can do, I guess I just wanted to vent a bit about my nervousness in the hopes that it would make me feel a little bit better. Thanks for listening!

I'm so new to this site but I'm so scared I don't know where to turn. I have myself pushing up daisies already. Afraid to talk to my kids they have lives is their own. waiting is the absolute worst. I can't think or function. I just want to sleep so I don't have to think about anything

I too was Birads 4b--and had to wait 2 weeks between diagnostic mammo/ultrasound and core-needle biopsy. My biopsy results came by phone and my hospital's patient web portal within 36 hours of the procedure. But even that was 36 hours too long. As Tom Petty said, “the waiting is the hardest part." But you know what? You won't fall apart. You may feel socked in the gut, scared and confused, and nonfunctional for a day or two--and that is perfectly okay. You have my permission to respond to the first person who tells you “pull yourself together” by punching their lights out. But knowing either way is something of a relief--either spurring you into action or returning to the “old normal." I got my results in the evening, gathered my family later that night, talked to my gyne the next morning and immediately made an appointment with my breast surgeon. Then I bought both Elisa Port's and Susan Love's breast cancer books and started lurking here.
