Sharon, I was told radiation on the right side can avoid the heart. It does not sound good that your surgeon may have not read the report. I don't think the ccomedonecrosis is a good thing. You can do a search here and get all the posts that reference that

    Dear mesharon1959:

I was told to research my Radiologic Oncologist very carefully.  The RO must be very skilled and must have a great deal of experience because because (s)hehas to radiate only the breast and make sure that the heart and lungs do not get radiated.  I was told to make sure that the RO who I chose works primarily with breast cancer.  Most RO's work with many different kinds of cancer so they may not be especially skilled with breast cancer.  Radiation tx is a one shot deal.  The choice of RO is one of the most important decisions that you will ever make.  I went for 3 different opinions from 3 different Radiologic Oncologists. I am very happy with my RO.

Make sure to discuss all of your concerns and your medical history with your RO.

Good luck.  I wish you the best and I am sending you hugs and positive thoughts.
