Not necessarily hymns, but there are secular songs that cheer me up and give me hope. "Touch of Grey" by Grateful Dead (the “I will survive, I will get by" refrain in the chorus). But the Gloria Gaynor “I Will Survive" is so ubiquitous that all it conjures up for me are bad disco flashbacks. Also “I Lift My Eyes Up To the Mountain" (Psalm 110?) in Hebrew, which is sung by our cantor & choir every High Holy Days service (I follow along with the translation). The melody is what makes it so much more inspiring than just the text
