My furbabies are my favorite therapy!

My husband and I don't have children, we have "furbabies" instead. Only those who are "animal people" can understand how much my 3 rescue dogs have helped me through this ordeal. They snuggle with me when I'm depressed or scared. They make me laugh when I'm down, and most of all, they love me unconditionally. Breasts or no breasts, they don't see me any differently, and that's more than I can say for most of the people in my life.

I love to snuggle with my kitties. My sweaters have more cat hair than the cats, oh well.

I'm the crazy guinea pig lady! We now are down to only 4 piggies, but when I was diagnosed we had 6! When I was recovering from treatment, they would snuggle in and sleep on my lap or next to me.

We also had 2 rescue dogs when I was diagnosed. Our yellow lab, Susie passed away 2 months ago. Our other dog is a lab mix, classic yellow dog. He is now blind and diabetic.

I have 3 teenaged boys, so it's nice to have someone who is happy to see me! ;-)

I had my puppy a black lab July 2014 and diagnosed with breast cancer February 2015. I said she was a gift from heaven I would have struggled with out her, I love her so much and she shows so much love to me. Thank god I had her.

I have 2 smooth hair fox terriers. They are very high energy & love to climb all over me. We call them Thing 1 & Thing 2 (because they are so much like the thing 1 & 2 in cat in the hat).Right before I got diagnosed Thing 1 who has always been slightly more protective of me stopped climbing all over me & spent most days curled up with me. He even started to get a little pudgy. Since my bilateral mastectomy on 10/12/15 I haven't been able to snuggle with Thing 2 he just won't stop climbing on me. But Thing 1 will curl up with me for hours while I rest. He makes me feel so much better. I'm having a tough time since surgery & his cuddles get me through when I feel like I can't stand it anymore. I feel bad that Thing 2 can't be with me but he's always been a little more attached to my husband so he's at least still able to get some loving from him to make up for it. Dogs really do have the purest love out there I think sometimes.image

I have 2, Spookie is my avatar, Kris is a poodle rescue. Got Kris in the middle of chemo 3 years ago. He's daddy's boy, she is mommies girl. I had to get up and take care of them, good for all.

I used to have 2 furbabies, but they passed in 2010 & 2011. I had planned to get a new puppy in August 2014, but ended up in the hospital where I was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic BC to my T11 vertebrae. My Initial BC was in 1991 at the age of 31. After my newest diagnosis I decided not to get a new dog for fear that I would not be around for his whole life, but my oncologist & some people I know have encouraged me to go ahead. After thinking on it, I have decided to get my new furbaby and that will happen in April 2016, unless something significantly changes between now and then with my health.

My absolute favorite breed is a Cairn Terrier. I've had one before and adored him. I believe a dog will give me the purpose to keep going each day.

oops - I'm learning how to add photos via this chromebook. I purchased this large pony "Peanut" 4 years ago after I lost both my heart horse and my favorite buddy cat. Their loss was very depressing for me and I needed to keep involved with what I love. Also got this adorable little chihuahua rescue 2 years ago - high energy Sparky dog.

are you posting from iPhone or computer? I posted a screen shot. See in the top right corner the icon that kind of looks like mountains? Tap that, will bring up screen to take you to your photo library. Easy to post that way.

I have seven cats and one dog. After I lost my hair and decided to shave my head, I wondered if my animals would look at me different or not recognize me. They didn't seem to care if I had a bald head or a full head of hair. They love me unconditionally.

I have a different kind of fur babies but please don't judge too harshly! I love them and they give me great pleasure caring for them, including antics that most people never see!!! This is Amber-rose (brown-pink) and Pepper (blue-silver), two very happy tarantulas!!! Both are Chilean Rose Hairs, docile and very cheeky. I also have five rabbits, three aquariums and two cats...all whom I love dearly. Animals make you come out of "yourself" and give back more than you can ever expect....even the tiniest, furriest ones!

I agree that furbabies are great therapy when you're sick and feeling down. They cheer you up and calm you down. My beloved Corgi, Jerry went to dog heaven two months ago. I've been visiting a pomeranian pup's page, Cheeky BG, and his posts make my day. It helps losing Jerry more bearable.

Gorgeous babies everyone!!! I have added 29 more tarantulas to the two I showed......they are addictive. Each have their own terrariums and it is like a piece of the jungle or desert in my home. Little Itch is an arboreal from Africa.
