I'm heading into my MRI guided biopsy in a few hours and am hoping for some opinions. My MRI states oval shaped area of clumped enhancement about 7mm x 15mm with plateau kinetics. Everything I've read on this suggests DCIS. Any experiences to share? Thank you!

Thanks etnasgirl!! I decided to come into work for a couple hours to make the time go by faster. Cuddling babies always makes me happy!

Before the biopsy today I asked the radiologist what his opinion was based on my MRI findings. He said it is suggestive of DCIS (like I thought ) or possibly fibrocystic disease. I was hoping someone else could share their biopsy results who had similar clumped enhancement with plateau or washout kinetics. Anyone?

I now sit here waiting for my biopsy results appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday. Did anyone have an MRI with clumped enhancement and plateau kinetics that turned put benign??

After I was diagnosed with the tumor in my left side I had an MRI of both breasts. The tumor had already been excised from the left, but the left MRI showed "numerous" focal clumped areas with type 2 enhancements (plateau kinetics) throughout the breast. NONE of these areas turned out to be anything except fibroglandular tissue.

Thank you SummerAngel! Everything I have searched shows it it is suggestive of DCIS. I have my results appointment tomorrow. The waiting is so nerve-wracking!

Waiting is very hard! Yes, my doctors told me that if I opted out of a mastectomy (which they advised me NOT to do), I would have to have a biopsy of every one of the suspicious areas in order to rule out DCIS.

I am kind of in the same boat here I believe. I had an MRI come back that found an 8 mm non mass enhancement with type III kinetics. I've had an ADHD diagnosis on my left breast in 2013 and now this is on my right. I really feel this is DCIS. I am 40 and feel like both breasts are ticking time bombs. Does anyone else have a similar story? No one else I've talked to has even heard of kinetics. Also, I am scheduled for a ultrasound on 11/5 to determine if I will have a ultrasound guided biopsy or a MRI guided one.

I have had stereotactic biopsy that diagnosed my DCIS---mammogram showed micro-calcifications that were in a segmental linear distribution with branching. My breast surgeon then sent me for MRI and that showed 2 more suspicious areas. Both of those areas were also described as non-mass enhancements, one being segmental and the other described as clumped. Both came back as fibrocystic changes with one side having some type of pseudo stromal cyst (something like that---don't have the report in front of me). So, I was thankful to get that report. I had convinced myself that the biopsies were going to show more cancer, but thankfully nothing else. I'm scheduled for lumpectomy next Tuesday and excision of the other cyst.
