edited November 2015 in Waiting for Test Results

My core needle biopsy was scheduled for this morning at 9:00am.

7:30 this morning I get a phone call from the hospital where I am having the biopsy done, informing me that the tech who was going to performing the ultrasound called in sick and they would have to reschedule for NEXT Monday.
I have already waited a week for this biopsy, now they want me to wait ANOTHER week and then wait some more for the results?? I don't think so. I went off on the poor girl! (I felt badly, but I was beyond stressed by this point.)
She told me she would get with her supervisor and call me back. About 20 minutes later, she did. My new appointment is tomorrow morning at 8:00am

Just SO tired of waiting. I want this over with already!

Good for you! You have to be your own advocate. You would think there would be a little more compassion considering the situation. Good luck. Keep us posted...

Don't feel badly - you are sometimes your only advocate and always your best. Unfortunately, sometimes you don't catch more bees with honey and this was one of those situations.

I am so sorry you are in this situation and I think that you have only proven yourself to be human. Let's look at it this way--yes, you went off and all of us good people try not to go off on others. But in a way it sounds like your "going off" was your way of getting your needs taken seriously and met. After all, you won't be waiting another week and if you had not gone off, who knows....

I had a similar situation in which my first appointment with my BS kept being described as "we might as well wait until after the holidays" (this was in early November!) and I just lost it. I cried on the phone with a woman who, again, was hardly the person in charge. But they ended up squeezing me in and my lumpectomy happened BEFORE thanksgiving! So. Sometimes yes a person gets emotional but sometimes she needs to. Take care!
