One small bump! Can't wait to see MD tomorrow

Options

I had a right side mastectomy in June, no reconstruction. A couple of weeks ago I noticed what feels like a BB under the skin. I know that's a small thing to worry about but 1. It's close to the cancer site. 2. It's about a half inch from the scar in the small area where there may be some breast tissue left. 3. It's new. 4. There seems to be a tiny ridge that runs from the scar to the bump? I worry about them thinking I'm too obsessed over nothing, but it will give me peace of mind if they biopsy or remove it. I was going for a diagnostic mammogram of the other breast anyway (3 mastitis type infections in the last couple of years and I guess that is uncommon for a menopausal women) I called the surgeons office do they added an ultrasound on the mastectomy side. Can we ever quit worrying?

Marie - Hope it turns out to be nothing. I had something similar. Mine turned out to be an internal suture knot that never dissolved or dissolved slowly. Maybe that is what yours is, with it being so close to the scar/incision line.

thanks Bayou, I had a suture come out at the scar line about a month after surgery but this feels different. Hopefully I'll know soon. Appointment in less than 2 hours.

They think the lump near the mastectomy scar is in the skin and just said to watch it. But in the remaining breast he said there has been an increase in calcifications behind the nipple in the past 6 months. So biopsy on Thursday. I know it's unlikely to have cancer in both breasts the same year, but it has been one of those years.
