Congratulations, Twinkle!!!!
🎉😄
erica - I feel pretty similar. I've done 6 of 12 TC treatments and am feeling seriously old. I need help walking up stairs most days, my nails are just starting to feel weirdly loose (a disgusting feeling), neuropathy is still tingling and no pain but bothersome, blurry vision, and incredible fatigue, the usual TC side effects. Can't wait to wear Twinkle's shoes

Fatigue! I sleep 14 hrs a day and still wake up exhausted. Can't wait for this to be over.

Here's my blog post about my meeting with the breast surgeon and my last chemo! http://jenniferfightscancer.blogspot.com/2015/10/meeting-with-breast-surgeon-and-last.html

twinkle- yahoooooo!
Mary-new pup, yahooooo! Please post some pics.
Pea- glad you knew enough to ask about rads. When I was diagnosed, a friend (3 years in remission) told me "you are your best advocate. Learn everything you can about your cancer." It was great advice, although it became super easy for me to take the backseat, as one of my close friends is a NP at my treatment center, so she educated me. A LOT. And as my friend, I trust her.
Cheese- I just had the MRI yesterday (my third round in that clunker). My test was only about 20 minutes. And my arms were sore, I can't imagine laying like that for an hour. Oh, yes I can. My 2nd MRI included a biopsy. Worst. Day. Ever. It was so uncomfortable. And may none of us have to go through those again.
My MRI results came in today and MY CANCER IS GONE
Chemo worked!!!!!! No sign of tumors, or anything in my nodes.
I still have bmx in December, regardless, and rads to follow (as of now).
But all of that is just fine with me, knowing that chemo did it's job.
With 2 more weeks of these chemo toxins roaming my body, I don't care if chemo makes me feel sick, tired or sends me running to the bathroom because it's working. It's effing working

Suzanne1971: WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO!!!
-
@suzanne congratulations!!! That is the awesome thing about neoadjuvant chemo... I could feel my tumor shrinking and now it's gone. My doctors haven't ordered any more scans, though.
-
@Suzanne1971, congratulations!! That IS awesome news!
-
suzanne - congrats!! Happy dance!
-
Congrats Twinkle!
Congrats Suzanne!
-
Suzanne HAPPY HAPPY NEWS!! CONGRATULATIONS!!
-
Suzanne!!! What wonderful news!!! I'm so happy for you.
Twinkltoz, congrats on your last chemo!
I'm headed to surgery on Monday morning. Chemo didn't do its job but I'm damn certain that cutting the little b*stard out will have an effect. STILL don't know if double or single mastectomy, it's literally going to be a game time decision, but I do know a lumpectomy is out. Best part of having a DIEP flap is a little extra chub on the tummy is a good thing...I may or may not have had pizza and ice cream for dinner (I totally did).
Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!
"Boo!"

good luck, @missbee! Cut that sucker out!

Oh! What timing I have. My surgeon just texted me (I have to admit I love that she texts after hours and calls me from home) and my genetic results are back. I am positive for the RAD50 gene, which is linked to both breast and ovarian cancer. I'll have to see a gynecologist oncologist after my breast and thyroid surgery to discuss risk assessment and whether an oophorectomy is needed. By the time they are done cutting me up I'm going to be just a skeleton with skin and nothing left inside! Sheesh.
This means double mastectomy on Monday so my stomach and thighs will be used, 5 days in the hospital, PT, and one hell of a recovery. I think I'll just go finish that pint of Ben and Jerry's I started on earlier. And maybe a gallon of wine.
-
self medicating FTW! Sorry to hear this news, @missbee. Sending lots of love!

Cheesequake: Congrats!!!

Missbee123 kill that sucker!!

Hello All - Happy Halloween..
Congrats WooHoo - last chemo days for Twinktoz and Cheesequake - love your pic!!! Hope your se's are not too bad ...
Erika - hugs to you for your continued neuropathy/pain and weakness .. hope it goes away fast for you after chemo ends..
27Heart - can relate - the exhaustion is amazing to me when doing nothing - I cleaned the bathroom the other day (my husband tries) and had to lay down after and I really only wiped it down and cleaned the toilet - 10 minutes tops
Batesburg - love the pic - thanks for sharing
Suzanne - Happy Dance for you on your results .. what great news as you get ready for surgery in December!!
MissBee-- thinking of you for surgery Monday - you will do great and you deserve all the pizza and ice cream in the world and wine too
Hugs to you .. I know this is it - time to get the cancer out ... Rough last few days - thought I had control of my constipation taking Dulcolax Softeners and Miralax daily and Thursday Bleeding Hemorrhoids came back with a vengeance - I actually cried thinking that my Hemoglobin last week was an 8 and now it will drop again with my 3rd Taxol on Friday... has not happened in 3 weeks and now back to square one .. will my ass ever be the same and I can actually only talk about this here - so embarrassing - thank you all for listening!! Well I met with MO before treatment yesterday and bloodwork was not done yet and she agreed let's just move forward with transfusion now so I signed all paperwork and she also said for me as chemo patient they now know if a Side effect can happen it will happen to me and they will do their best to help me manage with the goal of no more hospital stays as I get thru the 10 Taxols left. I did really appreciate that.. So I went to get started with my chemo and they took blood for CBC check and my prayers were answered - my hemoglobin actually increased from previous week to a 9.1 (WOOHOO - wish I knew what I did) so we cancelled the transfusion and moved on with my 3rd Taxol - they increased all pre-meds this time to make sure no reaction this time and I sailed thru it .. finally!!! The pre-meds do stink - high dose Steroids that do no have a nice steroid high but they get me thru the treatment so I'll take it ..
I ended yesterday on a high note as our little Stella joined our family - see pics - puppy love is really the best medicine .. she is 10 weeks old and does pee/poop outside but still little piddle accidents we are trying to help her with.. She is fully crate trained and goes in it on her own so hoping not too much work .. she is the cutest thing in the world and just makes you smile ...

Happy Halloween All - Enjoy!
Mary

Sorry for posting the pic and running with no comment, it was during a rare bout of insomnia, one of those ones where you're awake but not really thinking straight. The feeling of being done with this part of the process filled me with a lot more excitement than I expected. They have a little gong in the infusion center and the nurses get together and cheer, play drums and noise makers while you bang the gong. I got into it

Suzanne, congrats!! This means you're officially NED, right? Go girl!!
MissBee, thinking good thoughts for you on Monday - you've got an incredible attitude considering all that's on your plate. Ice cream and wine sounds right up my alley too! I've been doing lots of ice cream throughout chemo but I've stopped drinking alcohol altogether - I have a celebratory bottle of red that I'm planning on drinking on Nov 30, exactly one month PFC!
mdoc, that sounds like a lot of Taxol! Sounds like they - and you - are working hard to manage those SEs. (And I'm sure the new puppy helps too!!
) After my 5th TCH my hemoglobin was 8.6. My infusion nurse said that if getting around got too difficult or I experienced a lot of shortness of breath between #5 and #6 to just call for an infusion, she sounded very casual about it. I didn't really want to go that route so I ate more meat, fish and spinach over the last 3 weeks to try to boost my iron naturally, and apparently it worked, I went from an 8.6 to a 9.1. That was enough of a difference that for the 10 days before TCH #6 yesterday, I felt really well. Did you have more iron by chance? -
Tomorrow is the big day! All marked up and ready to go. My butt has some nice sharpie lines, too, but I don't think any of you want to see that.
Wish me luck and I'll see you on the other side!

-
MissBee123: Good luck tomorrow!
-
Good luck! I'll be thinking of you.
-
MissBee - thinking of you today... You will do great! Hugs to you 😘💪🏻
Cheesequake - I did set a little more red meat last week - not intentionally - maybe that helped.. As far as managing SE's & reactions - I am resigned that if it can happen I will most likely get it & just try to stay on top of it.. The fatigue is the worst & my neuropathy is bad for me on days 3,4 & 5 and then decreases just in time to do again. The hardest right now for me is managing the constipation & not finding the right balance of meds to help.. 😕
Happy November All! Time just flies
Mary
