I have a call in to the doc, waiting for a call back but what do they do for a UTI? Will they call something in? Will I have to go to the ER? Just looking for info to plan where I will be. I have no fever and it does not burn persay but the end of peeing it hurts... badly. It started last night just on the cusp so I was drinking water a lot of water but its not getting better. Getting more painful to pee... Any info what I can expect. Thanks

call your doc and if no response then you could try the ER but I would really try to reach your doc and ask her

I have been waiting for the oncall to call me back for 2 hours now. I was just wanting to know protocol. I know if I have a fever its ER for a stay but would I have to go in for a UTI? I am going to call them back here soon to see whats going on... not sure how long you are supposed to wait for a call back.

Can you go to a walkin clinic, at walgreen or cvs? Would be faster.

Calling me in an antibiotic. I have never had any issues with chemo or a UTI so wasn't sure if I would need monitored or have to go in or what... Hopefully this works fast the pain is bad... 4 rounds down 2 to go. Cannot wait to be done.

as someone who has had many many UTIs (but not on chemo) the antibiotic works for me pretty fast as in within a day you will start to feel better

it helps to keep gulping down the water or cranberry juice

you will be fine, but as with all meds, finish out the script as you sure do not want it back!

    ThumbsUp

I had my first treatment 2 weeks ago and 4 days later developed a UTI from hell! I haven't had one in 35 years, so I'd forgotten how bad they hurt! I drank 2 bottles of cranberry juice and was able to make it a couple of more days until my followup appointment with my oncologist. My doctor ordered me a prescription for Keflex and I just finished it. It has finally quit hurting, but my onc has said that if it happens again, I should just plan on going to a urologist for help. WTH?! So...this could happen again? And if he's creating the problem, why can't he FIX IT?!
