Beautiful

Jo-5 I think there is such a saturation of mass produced and admittedly attractive items in shops that sadly many people don't as easily recognise the effort and beauty in a unique, personal production. When there was less of that around people would spot the special easier. Your work is fabulous.
-
Sorry, Jo, I've just been hunting them down. I have a few, but one that I wanted I can't find the digital version so I will take a picture of it in its frame. Later though.
First, here is a pencil drawing I did for my mom of her dad as a young man. She adored him. Gave it to her for Christmas 2002, she passed early 2004.
-
This is a digital oil painting of a photograph I took of the Golden Gate Bridge, looking north from San Francisco.
-
I did it in Corel Painter. You can choose your medium, your brushes, mix your paint, lots of fun. DH wouldn't let me have oils in the house because of the smell. But we have a covered patio which we are closing in, north exposure, lots of windows, and I will have a studio to paint with oils again.
-
Mags, They're making water based oils now that have far less odor. The smell is why I've never tried to use them.
-
Ah but I love the smell of oils! Funny, but after 35 years as a graphic artist, I also love the smell of of printing press ink and print shops!

Hi Everyone, Thought you may like to see a photo of some of my weir
-
Hi everyone, The last message didn't come out right so I thought I'd try again. This is a picture of my weird dolls. I make them to sell as fund raisers for my favourite charities. I work mainly with recycled materials. Love Muriel
-
I painted this on a retro makeup case I bought at an "Op" Shop. I distressed the background.

This is the same one that my Dad embroidered, in about 1980.... Had it professionally framed, and I kept it upstairs, but I thought the 2 little girls next door, would like it for their room! But when I went over a few months later, to feed their cat and Chickens, they had it hanging in the garage!!!!! I took it down, took it back home, and it's hanging in our Living Room.... The neighbors never DID say anything... maybe they haven't even miss it... It was not NICE to stash my Dad's work in a GARAGE!

I work mostly on commission, but I still do sometimes pieces and then put them up for sale - whenever I get the "creation urge". I am doing paintings - oil and watercolor, digital art, polymer clay sculptures and one-of-a-kind designer jewelry. For the jewelry most of the time ladies send me photos of what attire they want the jewelry for, or they might want it to match the pattern of the fabric of a piece of clothing, or other piece of jewelry they have. The only things that are "series" are prints of my paintings. I cannot post many pictures because I make unique items and people do not like me to put out photos of them as there are a lot of "artists" out there who are very keen on copying other people's work, and that (even with a poorer craftsmanship) would make the piece.. well, less "unique".
Polymer clay sculptures - I sculpt fairies, mermaids, elves, leprechauns, you name it, if it's of the faerie folk or of the fairy-tale land or mythology, I'll do it
These are sleeping baby fairies. Sometimes they have a stand, sometimes I put them in tiny jars on moss and put a nice lid with ribbons, sometimes they sleep in burr oak acorn caps. They are usually between 1" and 2". Also, sometimes people order them to look like their babies, they usually send me a photo of the infant so I can have a model.
quarter for size
This is a commissioned necklace, was supposed to match not just a dress but also a family heirloom pair of enameled gold pansies ear rings
These are from my "dragon's eye" series, two bracelets and a pendant. the pendants are about 1 1/2"
A "Mother Sea" pendant - about 1 1/4"
And this is from my "Irises" watercolor series, this iris is named "Pagan Dance"

I paint on saws and canvas. Great for my nerves, but not so great for my Lymphedema.

My Mother In Law was always busy crocheting or making beautiful embroidered doyleys.
When she passed I made some of her doyleys into "doyley angels" for the girls in the family; her daughters, grand daughters.
Thought it was a nice way to display and enjoy her gorgeous crafts.
-
Lovely work Artsee. Everyone has really submitted some lovely art works.
-
Babies are a work of art, this one is a masterpiece : )
-
I love water-colour but it's a very unforgiving medium. I'm better with acrylics; can play with them a bit.
I do enjoy dabbling with my water colour pencils. art see your work is amazing. Wish I could do something half as good.
JO-5 your water-colour is lovely and the bib is so cute. As is your great grandson. My grandchildren bring me such joy.
I adore the sleeping baby fairies sea chain.
I have painted saws too paintThesky. Though not as detailed as yours.
Beautiful work ladies.
-
