Thermostat reporting outside temp is 89 but there is a nice breeze going on. We are also still in flip flops and sleeveless tops/shorts.

Oh my gosh, Ruth! It must be really cold there! I am looking forward to the temperature getting to the high 70's or low 80's! I have to wait until late afternoon to walk outside! Still, one day, I would like to visit ND.....maybe in the summer. Ha H

We've had nothing but miserable rain and multifreeway accidents all week. Halloween looks cool, dry and promising though. Had our work party today and am now at the gym working off those treats. Also, I have two friends on Fitbit and I came in last place last week. Apparently PT doesn't count. Totally unacceptable so kicking it up this week.

Oh no, one of my friends is in Atlanta for a conference and was looking forward to some warm southern weather!

We had a fun Zumba class tonight. The teacher played Halloween themed songs to dance to (Thriller etc.). I stayed for yoga after, nice way to end the day!

Have been assessed for rehab and start tomorrow. I want to get back to what I was last year. This time last year I showed 2 horses at a 2 day show for 7 led classes, 5 ridden classes and a sort out session. This year I can't ride for more than 10 mins without a total melt down. Be good for medical people to see me in this state as none have seen me when I have been doing anything more than sitting in a waiting room.

Cheryl, here, only instructors are allowed to attend quarterlys and I too will be going to one later in November taught by Anthony, who is in #70 and #72. Had a brief intro last weekend, he is very polite and like his style. Yes, you are a LM groupie (good!) and do you wear the branded clothing/shoes too? BTW, Diana daughter of Jackie (who is rather amazing in person) is preggers again and why she was not in Stockholm. I've yet to buy one LM piece, although, we have a Reebok outlet and do buy a bit of general Reebok there. Odie, you really go for it and Ruth, I do like the WWW photos and this one is a cracking one, you all look so in charge and determined. Mary, you and your husband (and dog) have had a year of changes and there will be a time in our future that we will do something similar in downsizing, although we don't have beautiful a cabin (I love your place and octagon shape). Long way of saying, I think you have gone though all of this so well, at least that is how it reads on this side of the screen. Claire, lovely flowers., your's too Lisa.

I'm so stressed, writing up practicals, eleven total, studying for the exam, both of these on the 7th. I've emailed my instructor a few times getting clarity because American and English are different and trying hard not to misinterpret. In the background, I have a big birthday looming next week and quietly freaking over that, trying to ignore it, but too significant to ignore -60 there I said it-ekk. Anyway, I'll keep plugging away on typing up practicals and know this too shall pass.

Off to teach Pink Pilates (with a few tracks of BB thrown in) this morning.

60 is the new 40 (that's my story and I'm sticking with it ).

Karen, one step at a time (or should I say 'ride'?). It will take maddeningly long, but you will get there.

    Off to Cardio Sculpt!

I'm taking up your story! Hopefully when I move to the Villages with many, many activities and exercise classes, I can rev it up! Right now, just walking. However, my new boobs do not allow me to do much jumping around yet!

Lilac - it's the big 6-0 for me too this year - in December! Happy Birthday!! Let's bid good riddance to the 50's and get ready to rock the 60's! Do something wild and fun that day. BTW, LOL on you trying to translate British to American and back again!

SoCal - beautiful pictures!! Patoo - sounds like you've found another cure for allergies - move!!! Karen - as Ruth says, one step at a time. Now you're looking back a year and thinking of what you used to be able to do. A year from now you'll be looking back and feel proud of how far you've come.

I don't think we're going to buy candy this year - I don't think the seniors in our community go out much at night. I do have a bag of Hershey's miniatures I keep around for chocolate emergencies, so I'll have something as a backup if some feisty 55+ types show up.

Three mile walk this morning - normally it would be a running morning, but our running coach wanted us to just walk so we're fresh and ready to go for the 10K Sunday.

Tough 1 hr workout with my trainer this morning. He worked me hard and handed me heavy stuff. Personal Best worthy in some cases.

I felt like I could take on the world all morning through rads etc. But now I'm at work and the fact I only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep is catching up with me. (I was up finishing Halloween costumes.) MUST liven up. Date night with DH tonight. Belated celebration of his birthday which was last Friday. We had a class parent party on Friday and he had a gig Saturday so all we've done so far is cake with kids.

3 mile Walk Away The Pounds with Leslie Sansone group this morning. mysunshine48, thought about you as I took the class.

Reacquainting my sister with The Villages so went to one of the squares and walked the lake then took her to another small area where there is sand if you want to sit and sunbathe and boats put off into that lake. Nice quiet little park to sit, contemplate, read, etc. Then food shopping cause she insists on having food in the house! Now back home and will help her do some more unpacking. I'm over 10,000 steps already.

Enjoyed catching up on all the posts. Nats: great pictures of your run. Patoo: Florida is so agreeing with you! Wonderful that your sister is now with you. LB: I've been 60 for a month now and it's just fine. Everyone: Loved all your updates.

It's been raining on and off for days now. Finally was able to walk/run outside late this afternoon. I finished painting the pumpkins. Ended up painting 93 of them. Here a couple of pictures:

I went to the gym today. It was weights and the elliptical day. Finished the day w/ 14,000 on my Fitbit.

Wonderland- Your pumpkins are beautiful! My daughter was so bummed, as she carved one last Sunday. Well the pumpkin rotted by mid-week. We live in Texas, where it is very muggy and hot. They just don't fair well here.

Patoo- I love the insistence of food by your sister! It must be great having her around. My sister and I are close.

I am getting ready for costume day at work. It will be children grades PK-5th running around in costumes. It will be an exciting day

I'm not liking the cooler morning temps and walking in the dark!! On days I work (M-TH), I'm out walking by 6:15am!! The past couple days have been chilly!!! I guess I shouldn't complain as its the end of October in Denver and no snow yet. With the time change, it will be light when I walk in the mornings but dark way too early in the afternoons!! I wish we would just stick to one time and not do the change!!! Oh well...no one is paying me to make the decisions!!1

Karen I second staying on daylight savings. It only helps for a couple of weeks and then it's all dark in the morning again anyway.

Wonderland I just love the sparkly gold one on the bottom left. How pretty. Annie our pumpkins get chewed on by the squirrels even though they don't rot. You'll one day see a big chunk taken out.

I haven't exercised much this week in the cold cloudy weather. I took today off and it's supposed to be 55 and sunny so I look forward to a nice walk.

I've been soooo long away from this thread again! Hope to get total workout clearance from ob/gyn on Monday (had laparoscopic hysterectomy sept 3) and will have to quit making excuses. Have been getting in one or two 15-20 minute walks at work on most weekdays but not much more than that. Would still like to do a couch to 5k program after getting the all clear for running.

I haven't read posts here in some time but man, oh man, Wonderland, those beautiful pumpkins jumped right out at me as I scrolled quickly through the last couple of pages. You have a lovely, creative mind.

Love to all and have a great weekend!

Oh - for those who know me a little better (and perhaps weren't happy with my snoring on our California trip (Patoo))......I did an overnight sleep study a week ago and am waiting for the results. I'm expecting to end up with a CPAP device because I'm pretty darn sure I have sleep apnea (overheard recovery room nurse after hysterectomy say 'serious sleep apnea' when she handed me off to the nurse that took me back to my room). I've suspected apnea for some time now and am actually hoping I have to get a CPAP. I would love, love, love to remember what it feels like to feel well rested as I haven't had what I would call a good night's sleep since around 2007.

Oh - and I vote for changing the time by 1/2 hour and just leaving it there forever. I love getting the extra hour of rest in the fall but get totally screwed up in the spring when we lose that hour.

I went to yoga & took a long walk this morning, then did a little more yard work this afternoon. Cool, crisp, but sunny with no wind. We are almost at the end of leaves to rake as we are heading into 'deep fall' around here.

This IS the most wonderful thread; we are lucky, lucky, lucky to have all found our way here!! Happy Weekend!

I did a one hour and four minute walk around the lake. Sunny and nice today for my day off from work. Yah! Fall color is just past peak but still pretty. I'm happy to be able to enjoy some of the last nice days before late autumn sets in.

SweetandS, I heard nothing (that's my story...). Did water aerobics this morning. Nice to have my sister back but think she won't want to do as much as I intend which is maybe morning and afternoon workouts. Got lab and dexa results today. Cholesterol still elevated, PCP suggesting statin but will let me do Red Yeast until I have blood work done in 3 months to see if that helps. Dexa shows beginning osteoporosis in spine so he suggesting maybe switch to Tamoxifen. Will discuss with MO in 2 weeks but need to really up my exercise in terms of pushing just a little harder and watch what passes through my lips and over my tongue!

    Night sculpted friends.

LB I don't wear the branded clothing (really it's not made for my body type) but I do have the dance shoes and I agree with everyone 60 is the new 40 or even younger if your heart desires, look at all you've done in the past couple of years you should be sooooo proud of yourself. Patoo it will be interesting to see if the red yeast works for you, I am due for a dexa soon and I'm interested to see if all the weight bearing exercises I have been doing have improved my score since finishing Letrozole. Great to see you Sweet, glad you are doing well.

Last night did RPM then 30 minutes of U Jam followed by Body Pump, mind you I could barely lift the weights I was so sore from Pump on Wednesday, off to Zumba now - I have to work off that slice of cake I ate this afternoon!!!!!

hbcheryl, I asked about weight bearing exercise in spite of the spine now but he does not want me to overthink it as exercise is just so good in general. Most of my 'banging' is during water aerobics (easy on the joints) with the rest being the Leslie Sansone walking tapes so I think I'm okay in terms of not overdoing weight bearing. Other than that it's only been biking and as slow as I walk when on the lake can not really be considered weight bearing exercise. We'll see. I'm not type to stress over stuff so life is just happening. I do have family hx of osteoporosis so can't blame it all on anastrozole.

Sweet: Glad to see you back! Hope you get a CPAP as you well know it will make a huge difference.

Ruth: Did you get all your rocks in place?

Cheryl: I love reading about all your classes!

Kindergarten: This is such a wonderful thread and I feel like all of you are my best friends.

Patoo: Good luck with Red Yeast. Sorry about the beginning of osteoporosis. Family history plays a big part in that disease.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all the compliments on the pumpkins. The adult day care I painted them for made quite a bit of money for their fundraiser. That makes me happy bc although they are helped with United Way and private pay, their clientele who can't afford it are assisted with donations such as the pumpkins.

Walked/ran this afternoon. Lovely fall day. The type you thank God for.
