I didn't read the link, but the subject line seems to say it all....

I had to have a uterine polyp removed in 2014 (b-9) and THEY FORGOT TO SCHEDULE ME!!!!

I had to do all the leg work and the doctor never once apologized. NOT ONCE.

When she called with results, I must tell you, I have never screamed so loud at anyone for incompetence and threat of law suit.

I hope she learned that mistakes happen but apologies matter.... STILL get anxious when we drive past that facility.

Yeah, why would you intentionally schedule one surgeon for the same time? It's just asking for trouble. Even experienced surgeons only have one set of hands and one brain. Not a good idea to split your attention between two surgeries.

That is really disgraceful. I will sure ask my surgeon about this. I knew there can be issues of shortage of staff when you're waking up from the anesthesia (I knew a guy whose wife died that way - C-section for their firstborn...) and in some hospitals nurses are running around feeling like firefighters. But this...

Well, I had a surgery and the surgeon told me he would like to have a fifth year resident do the basic part (she'll be graduated and in practice in four months, has already done dozens of this procedure, and is really skilled), but that he would be right there, "Not on the other side of the room, not on the phone, not having coffee," and that he would perform the more critical part himself. "I might let her place one stitch." That was fine by me.

I really appreciated his clarity. Now that I've read the article CP posted, I'll be sure to ask all about the whereabouts of any future surgeons.
