Exemestane (Hormone treatment, probably an AI)

Hi, my BC pal is taking EXEMESTANE 25mg a day . She is having a lot of problems with bloating and wondered if this drug is causing it. Anyone out there who has experience with this drug? Thanks Muriel

    I've not heard of bloating as an SE from exemestane. I certainly don't have it. I go get bloat from a variety of carbs now that I am older, such as potatoes, wheat products, cabbage, broccoli, milk products - lactose intolerant.

    I agree with Doxie. Not a side effect I have heard of with this drug but everyone is so different in how their body responds that I would not totally discount it. Perhaps it is reacting with another med or with certain foods? Not sure but I haven't heard this.

    Bloating is not a se for me either.

    A problem for me when I was on tamoxifen and then arimidex but not exemestane. But I've also stopped drinking alcohol and am trying to avoid a lot of processed flour, particularly the gluten kind. My bloating has decreased tremendously since doing that and switching to exemestane.
